Featured Review

An excellent show from Doug Banks and V103; as always the Venue is a great place for concerts with the free parking and casino bar. The concert began with Steve Arrington, former lead singer of Slave, providing his distinctive vocals with a rocking band. Singing a lot of Slave favorites that had the crowd singing along. He was followed by the Timeless Morris day and the Time. Although many of the founding members were not present, the band did an excellent job. Morris is a great promoter of himself and their music. He often had the audience in laughter of some of his massagious comments and jokes. The band was popping and synchronized in their dance movements and brought back a lot of memories of Purple Rain. The headliners, Cameo followed the Time and maybe that was a mistake. The ship had kind of left the dock by the time they appeared and although they gave a good performance, thoughts of the Time was still echoing. I believe it is time for Larry Blackmon to retire the cup. He became the butt of many jokes do to his disappearances off stage and his presence of not totally being there. The rest of the band was excellent and exhilarating.

HOT ! It was just HOT! From the time we arrived to park and Lake Side was playing ,the party was on . Didn't know that tailgating was not permitted in the parking lot , that's OK . Nothing was going to stop us now . We danced all night long , didn't even get to our seats . I think we closed the concert after looking at the pic's , not a person was seen in the bleachers . Just to mention for someone who had knee surgery on both legs was still standing after Evelyn , RR , And Cameo . My knees paid for it later that night . Great time for us all and pic's to reflect .

The concert was unbelievable!!!!! My only complaint is the concert was outside in 108 degree weather which at times was unbearable. I felt Thunder Valley should have provided free water. Also, the chairs were basic fold up chairs which were uncomfortable to sit on for 4+ hours

I went with my family we had a BLAST even though it was on the hot side........ I danced to most of the songs. This was my second time there and the atmosphere was great.

The fantastic crowd and excellent performances, almost made me forget how hot it was. I danced and sing the whole time. And the drinks where on point. I will absolutely attend again.

The concert was great, all of the acts were very good.. Lakeside funked it up the best! Since this was our first time at this venue we were unclear of the seating arrangement. Once we found out seats the heat 115 degrees in the sun was unbearable, but once the sun started to set it was all good. My wife enjoyed Evelyn King's performance the best, she always puts on a good show. As for me I love the funk... Cameo was very good as the headliner, Roseroyce and Midnight Star got everyone up and moving... Good show by all acts... Can't wait until Sinbads Old School concert in September, I'll be getting my tix on Friday!!!

Lakeside took us on a Fantastic Voyage which was All the Way Live. Then Evelyn Champagne King came on stage and made her Love Come Down, dropping it cause it was very HOT! She said, The way She felt about me....she's in love. Rose Royce pulled in on I'm Going Down while working at the Car Wash had me Wishing on a Star. That's when I fell into a full Cameosis. It was Candy and Strange, but I liked it....

Loved the crowd, all the bars available but most of all , I loved all the performers. It was my first time attending a concert at Thunder Valley and it won't be my last!! I loved, loved, loved it!

Lakeside put on a great show, very entertaining.
Ms. King still has a amazing voice and hasn't aged a bit.
Rose Royce stole the show. Singer was the best I've ever seen, the band was fantastic.
Guitar, base, horns, drum solos were the best.

But...Sacramento is just way to HOT. I went to 4 Thunder Valley concerts last summer. This last Saturday was the last outdoor concert for me. 107 degrees was enough for me.

Thank you for the wonderful music, and wonder musicians and great time.

Cameo spent too much time on ballads & didn't even perform "Shake Your Pants" or "Alligator Woman". Getting older u have less opportunity to dance, so who wants to spend time sitting listening to 4 ballads in a row. Lakeside was good, Evelyn did good Karaoke to her own music & girl got low! Rolls Royce performed great but vocalist got too carried away on runs & trills! Overall ok & nice to see live performances that I grew up listening to from age 10 & up. For the price & seats glad I went. It was hot as heck so bring a fan.
