I probably saw Blue Oyster Cult live for the first time in about 1976, and, ever since, I never miss an opportunity to catch them.
I have to say...last night's show was one of the strongest I've seen from these guys in quite some time. It's always a little sad to see Eric and Buck up there without Alan Lanier, but Richie Castellano is absolutely phenomenal, and brings something special to the lineup. The same can be said for Rudy Sarzo's bass playing.
It seems as though Eric is more and more content to let BOC be Buck's band, and most of the evening's highlights belonged to Buck ("Buck's Boogie," "Stone of Love" "Last Days of May"). Hey, the band has been together for close to four decades now; shifts in the dynamic are inevitable. But, the bottom line is always the same: BOC can still rock with the best of them.

I brought my girlfriend along to this, and it completely brought her over to the side of rock. The band hasnt lost a bit of their spark, and are just as incredible as they always have been. The setting was even better; a lounge-like atmosphere with tables spaced comfortably around the floor, and we ended up at a table directly next to a low ledge from the upper level, with an amazing view of the stage (though the same could be said about pretty much any other table). The service was polite and friendly, as were the people we were sitting near. Basically, an unforgettable show.

Blue Oyster Cult was a great show, and I definitely got to see some great musicianship among the band members! It was also a real treat to see the bass player, Rudy, from Quiet Riot and old Ozzie days! I had no idea how talented Rudy is. Buck was awesome on guitar, and I feel he doesn't get enough recognition for his style of playing. Everyone in the band deserves a great kudos!
This was my 3rd time seeing this band at the Emerald Queen Casino in Fife, Washington.
