I have seen Elvin Bishop in concerts a great many times (since the 1970s in the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, opening up for Stephen Stills in the Hollywood Bowl, and as a headliner). Elvin has not lost a step in all those years. It was a true privilege to be amongst the 200 or so people in such a great venue as the Montalvo Carriage House this past Saturday night (11/13/10). He is a truly awesome performer who always connects wth his audience, telling stories, sharing his music, and with his wireless setup, actually walking out into the audience playing as he wandered and bringing the music "up close and personal" to us. It was an evening that none of us wanted to end.
Great music, fun, energy, the spirit and freshness that is the blues...there was something for everyone that night.

Favorite moment: Elvin graciously sharing the limelight with everyone in his group, expounding upon their talents, and sharing some of their history with us. @
Opening act(s): JC Smith Band, and as they said....they came all the way from East San Jose. @
