The line-up was great but unfortunately the show got started 1 hour late, thought that was a bit unprofessional. After things got under way, we had a great time dancing to the Beatles tribute band, who incidentally were called "Get Back" not "Beatlemania", not sure what was up with that, they were really good though, and the Original Wailers. The show came to a screeching halt when more than an hour went by before Mark Farner came to the stage. After dancing, getting sweated up & being in full party mode, things fell apart. With temperatures plummeting as nightfall approached, bodies began to get cold. With no where to warm up, thinking back, a bon fire would have been nice, the party began to decline. It was hard to enjoy the rest of the show when you are "cold soaked" & the grass is so wet & your feet get cold that you begin to shake to get warm. Therefore our party of 5 left before Dicky took the stage @ 10PM. Way too late to get back in the swing of things. 7 hours in the cold was enough for us. Would have liked to stay but it was too painful to hang on.

The tickets didn't say what time the concert was over,which I would of liked to know.I got there really early 11:30 to get good parking.I didn't know that all the local bands played first.The man bands didn't come on until 5:00,if I knew that I wouldn't have got there so early.The bands were all great,especially Mark Farner,he can move and sing just like he did when he was younger.He signed autographs after the show.I didn't stay for Dickie Betts,because it was only 42 degrees.I was froze.The music from all the bands was great

Dickey Betts & Great Southern played an amazing show! The venue was great and the audience was cool! I wiil definitely be looking for another Dickey show in the future!

Opening act(s): It was a group of young guys with a blues band, and they were actually really good. I just can't remember their name, it's been a while since the show. @

So far I've seen Dickey Betts at Rams Head Live in Baltimore and State Theatre in Falls Church. Nothing compares to the Birchmere, though. Great sound, everyone in the band plays flawlessly especially Dickey (who's still got it for a guy his age) and Pedro, his bassist who tears up the bass lines like no other.

I've never been to the Birchmere before, but I'm glad we went. Although unimpressive from the outside, the inside was designed for music and fun. The food was good and the seats great. It was good to be able to sit down and yet be so close to the band. The music: awesome! Dickie can still play that guitar like a ************! The whole band was great. My wife was not familiar with him and she was pretty impressed. Went with friends and had a great time. They played for a long time! The music is a joy to listen to. Does not sound "dated", or from another era; could be contemporary. Would like to see Greg Allman sometime, but this showed you the engine behind some of their hits. A virtuoso, without a doubt. He reminded me of a simple, unpretensious man who loves good music. Would recommend the band and the venue to anyone.

It was definitely worth the 3 hour drive to Allentown to see one of the best guitarists ever. Loved the venue. Loved the show! I have never seen Betts before so i was really anticipating alot and they did really well. The bass player Pedro was outstanding as well. The half hour version of Elizabeth Reed was cool. Loved the drum solos and the way they played Blue Sky. I would definitely see him again. Might be going to see him in State College this tuesday because i was born a ramblin man!

The music went on and on. All of the musicians were beyond belief. I felt that each song was better than the previous one. The concert included an unfogettable rendition of Rambling Man with the entire crowd on their feet cheering for more music. The brief interlude between the sets was filled by two great drum solos and a solo on base guitar. I believe that Dickey and Great Southern is one of the greatest guitar bands and should be seen at least once by everyone who enjoys this type of music

Absolutely one of the best concerts I've seen! Seen Dickey Betts other places but the Birchmere was tops!!!! Also, played an amazingly long concert, till midnight. AWESOME!!!

Great show!!! Great guitar riffs!!! Very tight band of musicians. Bass player Pedro Arevalo "yeah mon" had a phenomenal bass solo as did both drummers James Varnado and Frankie Lombardi who blew everyone away in a battle of the drums solos, and Mike Kach is an excellent keyboardist and vocalist . Dickey Betts bringing along his son Duane who has inherited his father's talent and has a bright future and the other guitarist Andy Aledort played some sweet slide and was in complete command right up there with Dickey. Go SEE THEM if you like vintage southern rock and roll!

I saw the show before this one in Enfiled, CT. The at The Showcase was unreal. Dickey put it to us in fashion. This was the best Betts show I have ever seen. 9 out of 10!!!
