I try to see these guys as often as I can (ever since my first show in the early '80s). I'm glad I didn't miss them at the Canyon club because it was better than Doheyne Days. It felt like they were playing for their home town at the Canyon. All their hits were played in their entirety (I never was a fan of the greatest hits tribute amalgamation songs with bits and pieces teased together). "Stepping Out" is a favorite of mine and they didn't let me down with this version. I still think the version they did in'89 was the best when the entire band slowed the beat down to nothing and slowly picked it back up... every one went crazy including me!! The Sax player killed it, but can we ever expect to get a big horn section again?

I'd never seen Steel Pulse before! They were phenomenal! The Canyon Club made it even more wonderful because of the intimacy of the venue! First time I'd been there and I really enjoyed the no fuss ease of parking, entering, getting a drink, and the acoustics were really good! Great time!

The sound was GREAT the band was FUN
The location was to HOT inside, The Canyon Club needs to use the AC more, when a Group like Steel Pulse comes to play.
We were a party of 10 and had a BLAST....

As always they play incredibly. THEY are amazing!
It was very disappointing they only played for less than a couple of hours. They don't come to the states very often, so when you do have the privilege to see them, a couple of hours isn't sufficient. Other than not playing long enough, they continue to be my favorite Reggae vibe!
I give the venue timeframe 3 stars, but Steel Pulse can never be less than 5 stars!

The crowd I sat next to was roudy, smoked too much weed and ruined it for me & my girlfriend. She has asthma.

Great concert! My wife and I plan this concert every year with a huge group of us attending. We are never dissapointed and will continue to go as long as they play here again. Infact we can't wait for next years concert already.
Steel puse is the best Reggae band we've seen and they put on a great show. Never been to any other cercert where not one person is left sitting. Everybody is up and dancing like it's a big dance party.

So sorry Steel Pulse but you gave me a $21.00 performance. Which is what I paid for my ticket. You have come a loooong way since I first saw you at UCLA when I first heard from you. Loved you then and twice when I saw you again. BUT...very disappointed with your performance Friday night @ the OC fair.
