Mannheim Steamroller put on a wonderful concert. There was definitely something for everyone. The common thread of the music was the impact of the "crescendo" each song contained. Creative arrangements of familiar christmas carols, as well as some songs, that while they were unfamiliar, were instantly enjoyable and memorable. An interesting departure from the standard concert structure was a multia-media presentation of midieval, "minstralesque" songs. These were performed behind a see-through, full drop-down screen. A video of a midieval feast (replete with jesters and dancers) played with the action being syncronized with the music. The creativity and enthusiasim of this production alone makes it well worth seeing. When the quality of the musianship is added, it also makes Mannheim Steamroller a "can't miss" event.
