I had the pleasure of seeing Phil play at my Mom's church in Montgomery Alabama a couple of years back. He used Jam man loop units and literally was a one man band. I remember on song he tapped on the guitar body like a bongo and recorded that as a loop, tuned a string down an octave and played a bass line as a loop, brought the guitar sound hole to his lips and oooh-ed and ahhh-ed some background vocals as a loop and then proceeded to play and sing the song over all that as a back ground. It was amazing to watch and beautiful to listen to. He also gave a message as a witness and testament to God through the performance that was incredibly inspirational. I would love to see him again if he performs anywhere around where we live. He is good for the ears, the spirit and the soul!
