His voice started weak as it has the best few years BUT got much stronger as concert progressed. Was great to see this master perform several of his many hits. As usual his band, who have been with Lightfoot for decades, was incredible.

My husband and I have been Gordon Lightfoot fans for many years. In fact, we've loved his music ever since we heard "If You Could Read My Mind", way back in the early 70's. Yes, I know that Mr. Lightfoot is older now, but he is still an amazing performer. If anything, his age gives new meaning to the lyrics of many of his songs. He's now "been there and done that" - truly. I guess you might say that he sings with the authority of experience, and makes it all very entertaining. After the concert, we had the privilege of meeting him. Our children (both musicians) went with us and were so very taken with both his writing and his personality. I might add that he did not change his arrangments - the voice is perhaps not as strong as in his earlier days, but it is still there. Gordon lightfoot - still a troubador.

I always loved GL's music when I was growing up in Canada, as a teen, so when I heard he was coming to GrandRapids, I had to go see him.
He certainly has aged, but the music was still great! the band was great!
I do wish he had talked with the audience a little more,
I would like to have heard some stories about his life , etc.

Gordon Lightfoot was amazing! I was really impressed that at his age he did all his own singing - no backup singers to support his vocals. It was pure Gordon and he did a fabulous job. The set was simple but beautiful. He was a humble guy and played/sang his heart out.

when he first walked on stage i thought "who is this old guy?"
on the plus side, he played for almost 2 hours with no intermission, didn't forget any words and his guitar skills are still there. but his voice was whispy and frail, with no hint of his former glory. he looked weak and like he could barely stay on his feet. i feel sorry for the guy.
on Edmund Fitzgerald, Carefree Highway and Sundown just a glimmer of his old voice started to show through, but other than that any old man could have done this show.
his band was top-notch on every song, but they all looked like they'd rather be somewhere else.
it was nice to be able to see him live, but he should know it's time to hang it up for good.

Great concert! At 75, still THE balladeer.... Even with a well-worn voice, the ultimate professional with a high-quality band. Well worth it!

The Dow Event Center was a great place to see Gordon Lightfoot concert. But I guess I was expecting him to sound like like he did when his hits were on the charts back in the 70's. He tried hard but at age 74 his voice is gone. He should stick to performing at very small venues like bar room stages.

I was very excited to see him in concert for the second time... Mr Lightfoot will always be a Legend to me! He's is one of the Greatest Story Tellers that I have had in my life time.
If anyone expected more from this show.. shame on them! I loved it and I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to have seen him live in 1993 and again 20 years later 2013.

Gordon must have sand 30 songs. I don't believe that I have ever been to a concert where so many songs were played. My wife did not know who he was when we got there and when we got home purchased a number of his songs from iTunes. She said it the best concert she has been to. What an enjoyable event!

Amzing to see him doing so well after all he been through in the past decade or so with health issues. I really appreciate him for all the times his music has helped me, or soothed me, or inspired me.

An awesome evening of music with Gordon Lightfoot. I have seen his show on numerous occasions throughout the years but this one was the best. He performed the usual hits but also included some of the more obscure (but delightful) selections. DeVos is an outstanding venue which enhanced the evening!

Gordon Lightfoot is one of the musical geniuses that my husband and I have enjoyed both in concert since the '70s and on vinyl, CDs and now DVD's! We sat four rows from him and loved it!! The only time we have ever been closer was when we met him backstage in person in a concert hall in Chicago in the '70s. We are consummate fans! Although our favorites go back many years, we enjoyed every minute of his performance. We were glad to see that he looked healthier than the last time he was in Grand Rapids. His voice held out even though he sang and sang and sang! He packed more music in one concert than you could even imagine, spoke for about 5 minutes total! Take the time to see him in whatever city your nearest to. You won't regret it! His concert was worth every penny!!!

I would love to give Gordon Lightfoot 5 stars but his voice just isn't as strong as it was, no surprise considering he's 74. The concert was very laid back and my husband and I really enjoyed the show. I was really surprised that he just went from one song to the next without really taking more than several seconds before he started the next. There was very little chit chat. He played/sang for 1 hour and took a 20 minute intermission and played/sang for almost another hour! I highly recommend this concert!

Lyrics were forgotten and mumbling took place to cover the forgotton lyrics. Very little interaction with the audience, and seemed to be pretty weak. It was disappointing. We paid a decent price to see this show and it just wasn't worth it. I will continue to listen to my CD's but Sorry Mr. Lightfoot, I'd say it's time to stop the live performances.

This was a great concert, from the humble beginning, when Mr. Lightfoot and his bandmates walked onto the stage and started playing without hoopla, song after song, through the encore 2+ hours later. 29 songs from a master songwriter. I was wowed by the length and width encompassed in this concert.
