The singer-song writer Ian Tyson is a Canadian icon. His voice has changed and is more gravelly, but he he appeared comfortable with his new voice and it added to the authenticity of his songs of a Western landscape and a Western way of life which is disappearing from our geographic landscape and the landscape of our minds.
His new songs are unapologetically personal such as "Lioness" and "Smugglers Cove". Woven into the set list of new songs are older ones that his audiences have come to love such "Summer Wages", "Four Strong Winds" and "Navajo Rug".
His bass player and lead guitar player are excellent musicians and the overall musicianship by all three was superb.
I would have liked to have seen more young people in the audience so that they may be exposed to an authentic voice singing about "The Cowboy Way".
