I have loved Glen Campbell for years, this is the first time that I have seen him in person, and I would definitely see him again. I never missed the Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour on television. He is a wonderful entertainer.

My wife summed it up: every time we see him, he seems better and better.
More guitar playing this year, and that was also excellent.

Glen was absolutely great. His voice had the full range from Baritone to high Tenor that we have come to love. His band was really cooking. The thing about this concert is unlike many others, they are playing arrangements, not just winging it. Every note was written by his great arranger and composer, T.J. Kuenster who plays keyboards.
The guitarists are reading music. Sure, there are some looser moments and of course Glen ad libs all his great guitar solos, but by and large it was written and practiced to get it perfect. Glen is sociable with the audience but does tend to repeat himself "It sure is great being here" was heard about a dozen times. At the end when he was introducing the band, he kept asking people their names. I don't know if that was a joke.
The sound at the Grove in Anaheim is always really good. The place was essentially full on a Friday night. Of course, many older people who remembered Glen from the TV show days, but lots of younger ones also.
He did the Lone Ranger piece with the guitar balanced on his head for the ending and it is amazing to watch live.
All the classics were performed, and also many of the covers from the new album. "Sing", the "Walls" song by Tom Petty, "Good riddance" by Green Day.
To bad he didn't do "These Days" by Jackson Browne.
All and all, a very enjoyable evening. The opening act was just O.K.
