What a great show! If anyone doubted how loved and admired Glen is, the audience's responses to him and his music would have cleared up the issue! They were quick to approve, applaud, cheer, laugh, and sing along when invited ... and accept, forgive and adore!
His Alzheimers' issues were minimal - there were a few quirky, "off" moments in the first half of his show, when his professional polish dulled a bit, and now and then throughout the show he used the prompters to help with the lyrics, but his vocal and instrumental gifts are still downright phenomenal. Hearing his deep, stong, confident voice, and seeing his fingers dance and fly on his guitar - well, it was mind-boggling. Those familiar songs, one hit after another, had two effects: we were all taken back to the times when we first heard them, and the songs were brought forward to these current times, making today feel a little bit more like home. Glen is aging, along with all of us ... if anything, his humanness simply endears him to his loyal fans even more!
Three of his kids were on the stage with him; it was fun to see the "dad" side of him. His wife has said that he is at his best when he is performing, and he truly was in his element on that stage; we were lovin' him and he was lovin' us back!
This is the first time I have seen him in concert, and I'm really glad I had the privilege of experiencing in person this man who has warmed and brightened all of our lives for so many decades.
