bored during cover act; enjoyed joe louis walker; whole group of musicians talented; performance rates 4 stars but didn't like waiting an hour for them to begin. Had to go to the bar to place an order for food and drink.

the 3 bands were excellent.....but 1)according to me the level of the sound was too strong.
2) It seemed to me that ,some times, the sound of the musicians of Janiva was stronger than the voice of Janiva.
But it's only quibbling.
The magic of the Blues was with me at the 237 w 42 street ,NYC.

Joe is the cool dude, clean licks delux with a class style all his own. A truth in the land of fakes and ad libs, Mr. Walker still allows that feeling you first got in the dive bar knowing blues were the only replacement for jazz. Ms. Janiva Magness gives a full tilt solid state i've lived the woman's life review. I can't remember when I had admired a woman artist as much as Bonny Raitt without a gitar in her hand. Delux combo, delightful surprise with Ms. Janiva Magness and topped with the allmighty gladdness you get with a triple bill of watermellon slim-i'm a happy patron. Enjoy Janiva Magness or Joe Lewis Walker (or Watermellon Slim) anytime you feel your life ain't got the feelin' you left behind in youth.
