This was my third Hot Club show - they just keep getting better eveytime! Loved the gypsy style songs as much as the western swing standards.

"It was great and so fantastic I love it", from my six year old!!!
This is an amazing group! They are all extremely talented! A real joy to watch. We've seen them twice in the last couple months and would love to see them again!

Last night we reunited with one of of favorite bands, Hot Club of Cowtown and we were not disappointed! We were first turned on to this group of incredibly talented musicians by our daughter who took us to see them in Cave Creek, AZ. We quickly became fans of this wonderfully energetic group of young talents and attended concerts in California several times. We were never disappointed. Imagine our pleasure when we found that they were appearing in cold, cold Portland, where we relocated five years ago. We wondered if they could possibly maintain the energy and excitement of their concerts and were delighted last night to find that not only are they as great at their craft as ever, they have all actually improved! Alana looked like she was going to set that violin on fire, Jake slapped that bass fiddle like never before and Whit's singing was more mellow and haunting than it had been last time we saw them. We most humbly beg that they return here often and heat up this town. You bet the Hot Club of Cowtown is as hot and even hotter than ever!

I was in awe of each musician's skill and how "tight" they were as a group. Their energy on stage was so exciting from start to finish that they literally brought the audience to our feet at the end Great music - great fun!

HCCT put on a fantastic, high energy show at the ARK. You got your money's worth with them playing two full sets and two encore songs. They also mingled with the audience during the break and after the show. A great night of entertainment

Great show! Three hot virtuosos whose energy won't quit! Whit Smith plays intricate and interesting guitar riffs with a speed and accuracy that leaves guitar-player wanna-be's astounded and with a tone and style that leaves everyone well satisfied. Jake Erwin must burn about 40,000 calories keeping that bass going all night. His slap bass energy is incredible, and the percussive sound drives much of the group's music, If anything, I'd like to hear a bit less of the percussion, though, and a bit more of the actual bass line. Elana James; what can be said of Elana James, the violinist and female lead vocalist. Wow. She has long been my favorite violin stylist, and didn't decrease that reputation any last night! Not only does she have high energy and virtuosic accuracy, she has a way of punctuating the musical arrangements with the perfect imaginative embellishments, different and appropriate for every song! Her voice is honey! And it doesn't hurt that her bright eyes and facial expressions (mostly smiles!) keep your eyes rivited! All of this and a music selection of gypsy jazz, Texas swing, Tin Pan alley, country classics, traditional tunes, and originals that sets them apart from just about everybody else. It's been 8 years since they last played The Ark. Let's hope they come back quickly. If they do, don't miss them!
