This was the 7th time I’ve been at one of Sylvia’s lecture. Once again, I was glad I went.
But then my expectations were a bit different than a number of the other reviewers. I wasn’t disappointed that I didn’t get to ask a question since I’m only mildly interested in Sylvia as a psychic.
It’s her spiritual teachings that engage me. But as she would be the first to say, everyone is here on their own mission for God. They need to follow their own hearts to find their own personal truth. It’s why she says, “Take what you want and leave the rest.”
I’ve always watched her lectures with great interest. I've found them to be both enjoyable and educational. She really can be quite funny and this year was no exception. I believe some don’t understand that her jokes about her mother and ex-husbands serve a spiritual purpose.
At least, this is my own personal take: all her jokes and stories seem to say:
“We’ve all had disappointments and things happen that sometimes really get to us. And that’s OK. We’re all only human and Earth is a very, very tough place. God loves us unconditionally just as we are and totally understands. So, let it all go and just accept and love yourself.”
And after all the laughter, it’s time for the mediation which I believe is the central thrust of the show. And after talking with people who attended, I’ve found that many have had a profound experience during it.
So, like everything else in life, it all depends upon what you’re looking for. I’ve been practicing the spiritual path outlined by Sylvia and her spirit guides for the last seven years and I have become a very happy, self-accepting and contented person.
I also regularly attend a local study group as well as the weekly Celebrations at Novus Spiritus in Seattle. I can’t recommend Sylvia’s philosophy strongly enough. To each their own, and God bless.
