This production was par excellence. The dancers were outstanding. The fairy tale ballet was performed with beautiful sets. The costumes were beautiful. And the stepsisters and the jester provided hilarious comic relief. If I were Roger Ebert, this ballet would get two thumbs up. See it before it leaves town.

Amazing! Iago was brilliant. The dancer was able convey all the emotions of the the character's betrayal and lies without saying a word. The murder scene was well choreographed, so much that the woman seated in front of me "gasped! " A production not to be missed.

I'm not the greatest ballet fan but go to several a year because my wife wife enjoys them. I am so pleased we saw Othello while visiting Chicago. One of the best performances we have seen. Dramatic dancing, a great story, and the orchestra was outstanding. A truly outstanding program.

This was probably the best ballet I have ever seen and my mother and I have been going to ballets every year for the past 15 years. If you know Othello, you know it's about very base human emotions (love, jealously, ambition, betrayal). We can all understand those and they can be brought to life in images, which is what ballet is. Knowing the back story (it's in the playbill if you haven't read the actual play), you know who the characters are and what their emotional state is during each act. It was brought together wonderfully and quite imaginatively by the choreographer. The orchestra was absolutely AMAZING! The music, the dance and of course the dancers were brilliant and I couldn't say enough good things about this show. For the record (and for those of you that may feel the same), I'm not a huge contemporary ballet fan and went in thinking I wasn't going to enjoy this show, but I was proven wrong. There were still a large number of classical elements to the entire show and the dancers pulled it off flawlessly.

Exquisite performance from all cast members. Plot was easy to follow with an incredible and powerful sound from the orchestra.
Othello, Cassio and Iago really impressed me with their intensity. The coreography was flawless.
I thought I was going to fall asleep but I was so captivated by the dancing and music that I think I was more involved in the performance than my wife.
She truly adored the whole thing. It's one of those events that you would not mind watching again.
I had a great and comfortable view from the box seats.

Another fabulous production by The Joffrey. The dancing is all that can be hoped for and the orchestra is spot on as always. The interactions among dancers tell the story as readily as the original dialogue penned by Shakespeare himself.

This was outstanding. The dancers, especially Othello and his wife, were unbelievable. I was so anxious to see this and it went above and beyond my expectations. I was really impressed by the set and the costumes as well. Overall this was an absolutely amazing performance. Well done!!

Othello draws the viewer in emotionally while watching amazingly powerful and graceful movements. The lead is superb in his athletic skill, nailing his role. Physical movements must be exaggerated to portray the emotion of the storyline, which the entire cast also nails. Truly a spectacular performance!
