Left before Public Enemy came on for 2 reasons. First, and most importantly, with the exception of Wise Intelligent and arguably Awesome Dre, the sets were terrible. Most of these guys are just too old and either their voices are gone or they just don't have the energy to perform any more. Thought Son of Beserk was going to keel over. Schooly D sounded silly at whatever age he is and uses so much reverb you couldn't hear the lyrics. There was only one Leader of the New School there who's voice was failing and there was no Charlie Brown. The DJ that filled in to rap with him had a very grating voice.
Secondly, we just didn't have the patience for the endless talking in between sets by Chuck D either promoting the social media sites of the all the acts or saying how great the old days used to be or else the acts making mindless inside references about back in the day. Truly unintelligible, boring and endless talk, that interrupted any flow the show might have salvaged.
We were definitely not the only ones streaming out of there early.
