OMG, What a Great show! I am so glad I went. Blaze is awesome live because he is REAL. He is ONE OF US! Not a fake, phony, poser, wannabe. Blaze ROCKS. Blaze and his band played for almost two hours, then after the show they went to the bar and talked to fans, signed autographs, posed for photos with fans, etc. Very down to earth, personable, sincere in his dedication to his fans and commitment to heavy metal music. It is so obvious that Blaze really APPRECIATES the loyalty and support of his fans, and tries very hard to return that devotion.
Blaze played 18 songs, including seven Maiden songs and several Wolfsbane songs. Ever the consummate professional, Blaze and the boys played a ROCKING show, even though the crowd was very small due to some unexpected bad weather that kept most fans away (luckily I only live three miles away from the venue). Actually, this worked in the favor of those who did attend, as it became a very intimate vibe, with Blaze giving his all as if he were in front of a hundred thousand people, but it was just for us, this small little group of hardcore fans!! Totally awesome!!
If you are a fan of REAL music, you need to own all of Blaze's catalog. Five studio albums ("Silicon Messiah", "10th Dimension", "Blood & Belief", "The Man Who Would Not Die", and "Promise & Terror"), two live CDs ("As Live As It Gets", and "The Night That Will Not Die"), and two live DVDs ("Alive in Poland", and "The Night That Will Not Die"). And of course you MUST have his two albums with Iron Maiden ("The X Factor" and "Virtual XI"). Blaze also did several albums with a band called Wolfsbane way back when. If you are not on board the Blaze bandwagon yet and are unfamiliar with his music, I would recommend starting with the two Maiden albums; "Silicon Messiah", "10th Dimension"; and the "Alive in Poland" DVD. Also don't forget the single "Virus" (great song) from the "Best of the Beast" CD, and if you can find it, the Japanese version of "The X Factor" is a two CD set with some nice extra tracks on the second disc.
If you can manage to catch Blaze live, DO IT!! Blaze Rocks!! LONG LIVE BLAZE!!
