We attended the ballet, Sleeping Beauty, performed by the kids at Kirov Academy (18 and under!). I was amazed at the level of talent that each of these young dancers demonstrated in this production. They truly were amazing! I have attended many professional ballets and I can honestly say that these dancers put on an equally mesmerizing performance. It was easy to forget that they are not yet professionals. What a treasure DC has the good fortune to have in its community. We look forward to many more performances by the young dancers of this school. Bravo to each and every student who danced and to the remarkable teachers who have been in charge of their training!

I flew half way across the country to see this ballet, and it was completely worth it! See anything that Kirov Academy produces. They are spectacular

Dreamy, romantic, lavish, and bold. The young dancers of the Kirov Academy of Ballet of Washington, DC, many of whom are the finest in the world, danced their hearts out for audiences at the Lincoln Theater on DC's Historic Black Broadway. The venue, a renovated Victorian theater in an historic part of town, was perfect for the high drama of the 19th century story book ballet. Kirov's corp de ballet was impressive in their depth and precision. Soloists and principles danced as well as professionals bringing artistry, beauty and excellent technique to their roles.

I bought 18 tickets for friends and family, so confident I was in Kirov's ability to present the highest standards of ballet performance. I was not disappointed in the least. A thrilling performance, start to finish!

If you like ballet, come to the spring performance.

Thoroughly enjoyable show, especially knowing this isn't a professional company but only a school. These young artists are all very talented and the production was wonderful.

The Kirov Academy production was one of the best we've seen. The dancers were utterly beautiful! And their youth only added to the realism of the story. The costuming and sets were also top notch. We wished we could have gone back to see it again. BRAVO Kirov Academy!

There was nothing more majical about this night then sitting front right stage two rows back hearing every motion they made. It made my first Ballat an amazing expirence.
