Unfortunately, my 10 year old daughter was not engaged by the concert. We left at intermission. I think it would have been more dynamic to have some tunes immediately that kids knew so they would feel more connected to what was happening onstage.
I loved the guest violinist and some of his pieces, very beautiful (but then, I'm 53 :) ).

Mark O'Connor's show was amazing and he did a great job of incorporating the orchestra, children performers, and audience. Mark's improvisation of Mr Tambourine Man was incredible and we are thankful to have had the chance to see him perform at such a great venue, the Balboa Theater.
