Lets get something straight right now, this is not a boring cooking demo that you pay money to see Robert cook and talk about his shows. If you want that, watch his shows and watch him demo something on youtube. This is an interactive experience with a chance to participate on stage, learn something, have some fun, and get a chance to meet one of the nicest people alive. If you read the other reviews, they talk about Chad which is the host of the challenges, an MC, and the challenges. Everything was put together by Robert and his crew. Everything is also paid for by Robert and his crew. All proceeds from the show go to benefit the Gary Sinise Foundation that gives all proceeds and work to Wounded Warriors. You will also read a review saying the show didn't start on time. OH WAAAAH!! Who cares? Show times are a goal to aim for, but they hardly ever happen on time, get over it.
Robert went around several times through the audience to talk to people or to have a laugh. He tried to make it as interactive as possible. He also got a group of random people to sing to the Veterans in the crowd. He tried to make it understood that regardless of your views, you should thank a Veteran. Also, nothing in the show is scripted. They try to make it a unique experience to each area. How do I know this? A member of the crew came through the autograph line to talk to folks about the show. He explained what it's like to do the show and to work with Robert and how nothing is scripted. This entire group puts on a wholesome and warm show and tries to accomodate the crowd. Robert did the show and then stayed for an extra 2 and a half hours for autographs, photos and to talk to people. And guess what, he had to drive to another show and start another Restaurant Impossible round the next morning. At most, he would get 3 hours of sleep in the car.
The show was a lot of fun and was much more than a cooking demo that you could get at a community college. Did they have a technical difficulty or 2? Yep, but I believe Metallica has had several over the years, and they're one of the biggest stage performances of all time. Did Robert try to make his show something more than who he is and what he believes? Nope. If you want something raunchy or you want a Food Network show, go somewhere else. Go to the show if you get a chance, have some fun, and expect fun surprises.
The reviews bashing this show are not an audience feeling, I assure you. Everyone we could see had fun and were thankful for the experience.
