The race was amazing. The event was well planned. The hardest thing to address is parking and transportation. For a first time event, it was very good. There were plenty of busses and several off-site parking areas to choose from. The track was beautiful and had plenty of character. I especially enjoyed the elevation changes in the track. As the race went on it was obvious that there were plenty of passing opportunities. Hopefully it was financially successful for the promoters as well as the City of Austin. They also had plenty of volunteers at the airport to answer any questions. I can’t wait until next year.

The inaugural Austin Formula 1 Grand prix was an unqualified success! I was proud to show the event off to my guests from Southern California. The racetrack was spectacular, We parked in the M lot at the track and the traffic organisation was very good. We got into the track in record time each day, having done some recce into the back routes, and got out easily on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, it only took 2 hours to get home (a normal 40 minute journey), which was quite impressive as traffic had been the one thing I was apprehensive about. The weather was fantastic and there was an awesome crowd which made for an amazing atmosphere. Also alot of good general admission areas to set up your camp chairs with very good viewing areas. There were good concessions but the lines were extremely long everywhere and some vendors sold out of things too early. This is something that can be improved on for next year. We were unable to hear the UT marching band due to some technical difficulties so some fans from a large Mexican contingent organised a wave in our stands! The toilet facilites were second to none - I have never seen so many porta-potties in one place before and most were reasonably clean with plenty of toilet paper and hand sanitizer stations. All in all, a fabulous and memorable weekend well worth the price of admission

The venue is fantastic, especially considering how quickly they got things put together. Great sightlines and an interesting circuit. Logistics were pretty solid for a first race but there needs to be way more food and merchandise vendors as the lines could get sort of outrageous. Aside from that, it was a world class event (literally). It's hard to get a bad seat and when the Formula 1 cars go by the sound is incredible. Bring earplugs and sunscreen. I cannot wait to watch MotoGP as well as ALMS here.

Wow, I've watched the construction of the Circuit Of The Americas since the track construction was announced and I somehow wasn't prepared for the scope, the size and the beauty of this incredible facility. Absolutely First Class in every regard. And, what a flawless race weekend. Congratulations to COTA for blowing away my high expectations. What an incredible weekend.

Amazing event at an amazing venue. There are some small bugs to work out but overall impression was that they ran a wonderful event and were able to move a
Couple hundred thousand people from downtown to the track and back quite efficiently. There were a gazzillion bathrooms! Some of the food venders ran out of basics (like coffee?!) and food lines were often painfully long. There were tons of volunteers to help... It was really a fantastic three days! Bravo!

General admission tickets were a great idea. We spent Friday walking around the track and finding our favorite spot, which was turn 19. I definitely recommend getting to the track early so that you can have a spot close to the video screen.

Great event overall. Food and beverage service was waaaay below par. Not enough locations, not enough servers and the prices were rediculously high. Wait times we a beer were excessive. T-Shirt and hat prices were preditory. Over priced, like the drinks.
With some tweaking on supply and service and a slight redution in prices - you'd have a truly memorable event.

Amazing Weekend. Amazing Buzz. The design and build teams and COTA out-did themselves. Building a 'city' in a year! We had a blast and such great fun with so many F1 fans. Almost lost my voice! Great time :D

My first Formula 1 experience was far above and beyond what I expected. Texas sure know how to put on a show. I thought there would be lots of confusion and kiosk; but, I am happy to say that there was neither. Everything was very well organized and ran very smoothly. The military assistance handling the parking was superb.

We had the most amazing 3 days - courtesy of COTA.
Roads from Canyon Lake area were good, especially the newly built toll road.
Seats were good, with good views over the circuit.
Paid for parking close to seating - this was well worth it.
The only downside was trying to walk round the circuit to the one and only COTA merchandise stand. We stood for nearly half an hour trying to get to the steps up onto the bridge. Too many people coming down and we were prevented going up.
Just given our COTA merchandise as well received x-mas presents.
Overall a brilliant holiday in Texas - would love to experience it all again next year.
We would like to say a very BIG thank-you to everybody for all the hard work that went into getting Texas and the venue ready for the Novemeber deadline.
I'm sure Mario Andretti and Rick Perry are very proud of you all.

The event was fantastic! A very exciting race to boot. I was particularly impressed with how it all came together - No hassle driving to and parking at the track each of the three days. Despite many fears it all came together quite well. The only negative was the gouging by the hotels, etcetera and for the parking.

There were a few grand opening issues, but even after the first day you could see the improvement. Once all the grass on the grounds fills in it will be an amazing place. Nice viewpoints from nearly all general admission areas so you dont need to spend a ton of money to see a good race. Temperatures on the ground are warmer than up in the stands. If you have a seat higher up you might need a windbreaker. 5 stars easy once they get the place set up.

Austin people made for a very welcoming environment. Warm and genuinely friendly. Great fan fest area downtown was particularly entertaining. I've been to F1 events in Europe and Asia and did not feel as welcomed as I did in Austin. Great food and music completed the enjoyable experience. I'll be back.

We traveled to Austin from Indianapolis so we know a bit about racing and racing events. Given the fact that this was the inaugural event at this new location they did a superb job.

The transportation to/from the track from downtown was exceptional. Plenty of buses. A bit of a line going home but it moved nicely. They could have used a few more helpers informing the people waiting which line was what.

They could have used many more food vendors and COTA merchandise vendors especially since they knew it was a sellout. The food and merchandise lines were way too long and even on Friday they were already out of certain sizes of the popular shirts.

The only other area for improvement was the shuttle service inside the track to get people to their seats or their cars. They learned quickly and by Sunday it was much better but still could use some improvement like dedicated buses for the Grand Plaza and others for just the parking areas.

Except for those few issues the event was fantastic! The track looked awesome with the red/white/blue coloring and our seats in Turn 9 were amazing! We could see the cars coming out of the last 'S' past us to the Turn 10 hairpin and all the way down the long straight to Turn 11.

From the moment I arrived in Austin till I left, the whole event weekend was awesome! I had doubts about how well the event organizers were going to deal with the shuttling of all the fans to and from the track, but they did a wonderful job being the first year. Sure, there were hick-ups and other faults. But they quickly identified these and made changes as the weekend progressed. I have complete faith that they will further improve these changes for next year.

After many years of watching Formula 1 on Speed we were finally able to see one in person. It was amazing! The track is beautiful....every amenity available. We found the cleanliness of the track above anything we had ever seen at other tracks in the US. The friendliness of all of the staff was very much appreciated. Everyone was helpful, considerate and just plain nice! We found the traffic flow and parking to be well thought out. Obviously, there was some waiting but definitely not as much as we expected. The only downside to the weekend were the long lines for food; and the pricing of the food was more expensive than we had anticipated. In all, it was an extremely fun weekend! Austin was a great choice for the track. We will definitely plan to attend again.
