First off-I am an I Love Lucy lover. And this play was fantastic for those who love Lucy just as much as I do. But if your worried about your friends/family that might not share your enthusiasm, they will love it just as well! I took someone who is not a big fan of plays or musicals-and they loved it! It is a hilarious 90 minute production that will leave your cheeks hurting you will be laughing so hard!

It was a very good evening. I only wish it would have been presented at one of the larger Chicago theaters, as opposed to the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place. Would have been even better with an extra 100 or 150 people. It was great feeling, just like being part of the audience at a 1951 'live' I Love Lucy taping of 2 episodes. Highly recommended to those of you who are 'good' fans of I Love Lucy. If you don't like this type of comedy-sitcom, I would not recommend to attend this show. The actress that played Lucy was good, but actors that played Ricky & Ethel were the show stealers! The best performers. Then we had Mrs. Beaulah Figg & Mrs. Eugenia Swanson as participants within the audience as performers that welcomed you to the theater in the Lobby area & then continually included the audience & made you feel part of the play. Only wish they would have included a more popular I Love Lucy episode, something like Lucy Does The Tango, vs The Audition & Lucy Has Her Eyes Examined. Great way to spend 105 minutes, laughing continuously, even if you didn't enjoy/understand Lucy, it was just like watching a 'good comedy'..which are rare these days.

First let me tell you that I am a theatre snob. I travel to NYC frequently to see Broadway's best. The trouble with that is that you have a very high level of expectation when you see productions elsewhere. After investigating this new show, I Love Lucy, I thought it might be a fun romp down memory lane. But then I saw some previews on TV and actually thought of giving my tickets away. However Saturday's matinee (which appeared sold out) was light, fun and very enjoyable. All of the actors worked very hard to make it look easy. And, let’s not forget that they are emulating some of the most iconic television stars which in itself is almost impossible.

I would tweak the face cream commercial ( that I don’t think the audience remembered) and Lucy’s exaggerated shoulder laugh (a little goes a long way) and give a few more minutes for “Ricky” to sing a little longer at the Tropicana as he was fantastic and the band is really, really good. Other than that a very entertaining 90 minutes and worth the money. Kudos to all. Oh and thank you for not having an intermission.

I traveled from New York to see this show in Chicago and it was well worth it! The characters were spot-on as Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel. And we loved all the other supporting characters in Live on Stage as well. The music was also fantastic and it was such an enjoyable experience being in the audience of a "real" I Love Lucy taping. The choice of the two shows they recreated captured everything that we know and love from the I Love Lucy shows......the Tropicana, the band music, expressions and sayings. They really got it all! My group of five spanned three generations- my aunt who is in her 80s, two cousins and myself in our 50s, and my son who is in his 20s. My aunt watched I Love Lucy when it originally aired in the 1950s and we all watched the timeless reruns. The actors and musicians gave the best tribute ever to the show and Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, William Frawley and Vivian Vance by doing the show in this way and keeping it good clean fun!!! They all deserved a standing ovation for a job very, very well done!

First of all, the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place was much smaller and more intimate than I expected, so if you get seats even in the back you are still quite close to the stage. We were in the first row and that was a little too close. The play was good; it was a reenactment of 2 I Love Lucy episodes. They had it set up like you were at an actual taping back in the 50's with live commercials in between takes, so that made it more interesting than just reenactments. The MC did a great job of keeping the audience involved. You can take food and beverages in the theater so that was nice. The lead actors did a good job of capturing Ricky and Lucy's mannerisms for the most part. Again, there really isn't a bad seat in the house. If I ever go back there again I think I would prefer a seat in the back because I think it would give you a better perspective than being right on top of everything looking up at the actors.

I brought my 11-yr-old daughter to the show "I Love Lucy". She enjoyed it and was engaged, but I didn't see her jump off her seat in excitement. She had never seen the sitcom "I Love Lucy" on TV.

The show is cute and the actors do a superb job of mimicking Lucy and all the rest of the cast. The humor is pretty benign, like the TV show. They not only looked and acted the part, the actors delivered their lines with perfect timing.

In the end, however, the plot and content is very much like the TV show: vacuous. I never liked the TV show very much.

I Love Lucy: Live on Stage was a very fun performance to go to with the family. It was interactive, funny and silly. However, I will say that it was not as funny as I thought it was going to be because the fact is Lucille Ball made I Love Lucy and, obviously, Lucille Ball is not in this production. I will give the actors their props, though, for playing these classic characters and getting their voices and mannerisms just right! The ensemble in this cast was fantastic! They did a great job at making the audience laugh. All-in-all, I had a fun time and I would recommend seeing it if you want to do something different and want to laugh.

WOW! What an incredible experience!! This show was one of the best shows I have ever seen! Highly entertaining and a lot of fun for everyone! The actors made it feel like you were witnessing the real Desi & Lucy and being able to be part of history of such an amazing iconic show! KUDOS to the whole cast! I would recommend this show to whomever is lucky enough to have it tour your city!! A MUST SEE FOR ALL AGES!!! WOW simply, WOW!!

The actress who played Lucy was so good I had to remember that Lucille Ball was not there. The entire cast did a wonderful job. I actually loved the actor who played Ricky more that the real Ricky. I cannot wait until it comes back to Chicago. I was crying because I was laughing so much and so delighted that so many other people Love Lucy the way that I do.

As a die hard "I Love Lucy" fan, I surprised myself by waiting until the end of the Chicago run to see this production. While I wanted to really love it, I can only say that I liked it. It had some great moments that really recreated what was captured for the original TV shows. The apartment set was terrific -- it looked very much like I remembered the actual set.

The cast was good. Because Ricky and Lucy as such iconic characters, any actor would be challenged to try to portray them. These recreations missed the mark on occasion but at times were pitch perfect (or not perfect as the case when Lucy was supposed to be singing off-key).

It was a pleasant evening. The commercial breaks were excellent and the audience really enjoyed the whole 90 minutes. The production had only two more performances in Chicago but the cast seemed very enthusiastic and engaged.

My wife and I had a blast at the musical play, I Love Lucy. The concept is that the audience was at Desilu Studios watching the taping of 2 episodes of the I Love Lucy tv show. It was quite entertaining...very well done. If there was anything lacking, it was that I was hoping the writer would have created 2 new episodes that Lucy fans have not seen before. As it was, we sat through reruns, but done live and with music. (In contrast, last year's Three Stooges movie was a new story that Stooges' fans had not seen, not a re-enactment of an oldie but goodie.) There is no such thing as 'bad' episodes of I Love Lucy, but reruns are reruns.

"Desi Arnaz" stole the show from Lucy, I was expecting a more powerful performance from "Lucy", but it turned out to be Desi's time...finally! All in all it was a great time and my family and I had a wonderful time laughing and going back in time.

Being a kid growing up in the 70's, I saw every I Love Lucy rerun after school. Very spot on and enjoyable. You are part of the studio audience as the " show" is being taped. In between commercial breaks were enjoyable as well ! Good time !

I took my best friend and husband. We had a really nice time the show was great we enjoy are self very much, The Theater was very nice the seats were good. We can see and hear with no problems. I would recommend it to all my friends and family but it is not leaving the Chicago area but if it comes back I will tell them to go. It a good show.
