The entire weekend was amazing, we truly enjoyed all the music, set up, food, etc. Please, please, please, please bring back the Dave Matthews Band next year and EVERY year after!!!!

I enjoyed Quietdrive and Dave Matthews Band....they were by far my favorite two performances of the weekend! I did like Kinky, a band I had never heard of before....they were really good!

The festival was very organized and well thought out. The free water was awesome and there were plenty of bathrooms as well as food/beverage stands available. We attended to see TOOL only, end of story. TOOL was amazing as always but thought the set could have been longer. Also, the beer could have been cheaper :)

I was pretty excited for the River's Edge Music Festival. I work a lot so having a local festival was key to be able to enjoy it. Motion City Soundtrack are some of the coolest people They walked around and hung out with the crowd and even posed for pictures. Tool, as always, put on a great show and awed the crowd with Maynard's 2nd day crowd pleasing theatrics of Puscifer.

The Flaming lips threw a great party complete with confetti, balloons, and even a human balloon! I have never seen such a performance. Garden villa got us relaxed and rested with their soothing tunes just so that we could all dance when the Scissor Sisters came by and Ramped us up with beats that made it impossible to keep our feet still!

The band that I didnt know much about made an impact on me. I have been listening to AWOLNATION since they were up on stage, bought tickets to see their show in September and keep hearing their songs as the soundtrack to my current life. I cant wait to see them at the Varsity!

Positives:
DMB put on a solid show
Flaming Lips were very entertaining
Nice venue, like being by the river

Negatives:
Food options were dismal. If I find myself feeling the State Fair had healthier, tastier, less greasy options then that's definitely saying something!
One water station??? You need at least 5 more water stations. I know ppl want access to fresh cold water without having to pay $4 for a bottle. I'd stay longer (and spend more on decent food) as long as the water was free and easier to access.

Rec:
Bring a few more "known" acts and include more interactive booths with cool swag

Overall, pretty pricy for an event without camping as a package. Waiting in lines was annoying, but the will call window was really fast and the service wss great.

Tool should have had the 3 hour set and not Dave. Bring back all 3 Maynard's bands next year please and leave Dave to shows like Alpine. Puscifer was pretty aweae as well at rivers edge.

Tool was amazing! The rest of it was so so.
The bishop stage VIP area was far away from stage.
I thought spending $1200 would get me free booze, but I guess not.
The chipotle stage VIP was crap couldn't see anything.
Thought for $1200 I would be able to stand on side of stage, but I guess not.
I want a 1 day VIP, cuz I could've cared less about Dave matthews!

I thought tool was amazing. I thought DMB was weak. He came out about 25 minutes late and I couldn't recover from that. Every other band was right on time or a little early. I think the festival should be three days starting on Friday, like Lollapalooza in Chicago. All and all I think there are some kinks to work out, but I will definitely go next year if the lineup is good. Radiohead, Rage, Muse perhaps?

I think the large screens next to the stage should be as high as the top of the stage. they are at the same height as the stage, which if you can't see the stage it is hard to see the screens.

I don't think there should be any VIP areas near the stage. I think the sound stage area should be much smaller and the tent needs to be lower...cuts out some of the best areas to watch the show!

The bathroom situation was good everywhere except the main entrance.

Had a great time! Loved sublime, tool, and puscifer! I would love to see a more diverse group of artists next time, possibly some bigger names too. Overall, it was a great time, and I'm really looking forward to attending next year. The "hydration stations" were a sweet idea!

I was very impressed with the grounds, the opening acts, aand blown away by Sublime and completly amazed by Tools performace and stage show. The only complaint that I would have the the festival would be the time that certaim bands performed. Sublime and Tool would have been much better to see after dark, so the lights and lasors would truely impress the festival goer. Also I belive the Silent dj area would have been better received had it been at night. Maybe after the headliners. That type of music needs visuals as well as maybe the cover of dark to truely be a hit. Overall, I was very impressed

Location:Prior Lake

$90 ticket for a sunday. Parking was $15 but worth it to not take a mess of shuttles.

So...we're in for 2 people at $195. It is 1PM on Sunday afternoon and 95 degrees.

They made us dump out our Camelbacks full of ice and had to throw away our spray on sunblock. We're now in for about $215. Although they had water fill stations, the water was not cold.

The venue layout made it so you had to walk about 15 minutes in between the lynx and main stage...its hot, you get hungry, you can't bring chairs in or spray sunblock or your own ice cold water....

Ok. So it's 4PM and after a couple chips and snacks from a food truck we're another $20 deep in this mess. So far the music was good...awolnation...others....

Now we are going to have some drinks so 2 x 24 oz margarita type things and we are now $259 in....

You see the point? Can't bring anything in, SUPER EXPENSIVE, hot as hell, ovepriced vendors, and music....O.K.

NOT WORTH IT & never going again - seems like this is how concerts in Minnesota are - just moved here from the east cost where there are 4 day festivals cheaper than this with much bigger acts and vendors who care a bit more about the community..

I was hoping the VIP areas would have been closer to the stage due to the fact how much it cost to buy those tickets. I find it pointless next year to purchase the VIP package and depending on the lineup we will only purchase the 2 day wristbands. Also I thought the prices of beer and alcohol were a little high. We ordered 2 shots and the total came to $30 which was very surprising. Needless to say those were the only 2 we had. The bartenders in the VIP area were not very experienced and seemed a little overwhelmed at times. I thought the lawn chairs and tables were a very nice touch. We has a really good weekend and the comments above were the only issues we had. The entertainment was very good!

Overall this event was great. I thought that the lineup was really good, I liked most of the bands so I wasnt too bored. I ended up waiting at the gate from 8am till gate upen to get on the rail for Dave Matthews Band, so needless to say I was at the Bishop stage all day.

A couple things needed improvement.
1) parking. It was never really apparent where parking would be available, and a link on the website led to a vague parking map of st Paul. Next year I'd like to see instructions suggesting folks park in the river centre parking ramp (for the xcel) as that wasn't a very long walk.
2) shuttles. Again, shuttles were there but unless you happened tO have a smartphone or a handy map they gave out in the venue, you had no idea which shuttle to take or where it was headed. I used the shuttle one-way, so I rode after the shows and had zero idea where they were located or how often they'd run. It was nerve wracking!
3) water was out of the way. Making it more centrally located between the bishop and chipotle stages would've been nice!

I like Rivers Edge especially the layout of the stages and the vendors.

The lineup was just OK. I definitely was there to see Tool, Diplo, Scissor Sisters, Poliça. Quietdrive, Dave Mathews… not so much. I'd definitely recommend pushing more indie sounds but for a first year I think you did well.

Also the crowd was really mellow. That's fine, but I couldn't figure out why people weren't more excited to see these bands?!
