I have to agree with some of the other reviewers. There was an awful lot of filler, and not enough gymnastics. I went with my 10 year old who is a gymnast. She loved the gymnastics, and liked the dancing but would have rather seen more gymnastics. I get that they can't do gymnastics for 2 hours, but they could have done more than they did. Also, they did not announce the gymnasts all the time, or sparingly, so it was hard to know who was doing what. THe baby routine was, well, horrible. Really bad.
My big problem was how disjointed. I have been to at least 10 Stars on Ice Shows. One thing they do REALLY well, is transition from one performance to another. They keep a running theme, they sometimes share music, there is a lot of attention to the details of the transitions so that the show is more of an artistic production. In this show, the routines were disjointed with no transition. It was thrown together. Choreography was overall weak. Very little artistry compared to, say, a skating production.
he gymnastics was good, not great. Aly R. did her Olympic floor routine, but it was watered down significantly. The rhythmic gymnastics was excellent by the way. I would have liked a more polished show.
