Touring in anticipation of the U.S. release of 'Devotion,' Jessie Ware performed to a crowd that knew most of her songs. She overcame some early nervousness and sang well and charmed the crowd. The show was being streamed on MTV, which must have been a little intimidating for a newer artist on her biggest American show to date but she handled it well and the packed crowd really gave back the love. She doesn't yet command the stage but Ware is very down to earth and I think New Yorkers like that. Having said that, I think she has the potential to really own the stage the way Sade or Beyonce do, and it will be interesting to see if she is bold enough to go that way. Definitely go see her, in any case, as she has a great set of sophisticated and sultry songs that are delivered well. Attention people who talk the entire show: why did you bother showing up if you are not listening to the main act? Go to a bar or stay home because you're just annoying we who - surprise! - came to listen to music, not your inane conversation.

Favorite moment: She ended the set with "Running," arguably her best song, that really killed. @
Opening act(s): MsMr, a younger act that has some good songs, great energy and are worth checking out. @
