Absolutely amazing show! Very different from a regular Matisyahu show. Matis steps down as front man and becomes more of a band member. Spectacular musicianship that explores some edgier borderline avant-garde terrain. Some show highlights include spectacular guest free style rapping and one of the most insane upright bass solo's I have ever seen! The bass playing rivaled that of Chris Wood (of Medeski, Martin and Wood). The band really gels and innovates. Matisyahu's Melodic vocals give the sound a trance feel and he appears to really be enjoying himself on stage reminiscent to his earlier shows. The range and skill of these musicians blows Dub Trio out of the water! Cloud Runner is less ambient, more experimental, more full sounding and exhibits a wider musical range when compared to Dub Trio. I really hope to see more Cloud Runner shows in the future.
CLOUD RUNNER SHOULD SCHEDULE A SUMMER TOUR!! The festival circuit would not know what hit them!

I'm sorry but I was very disappointed by this event. I love Matisyahu's music and enjoy his concerts so I thought this would be a cool venue to go hear him but it was not what I thought it would be and I was very disappointed. Nowhere was it indicated that Matisyahu would not be singing his normal music and that there were be random people beatboxing etc. I kept waiting and waiting - firstly Matis didnt come on until after 10 oclock, when the event was called for 8. Plus the show went until after midnight, and he didnt sing even one of his normal songs so I was VERY disappointed and frustrated.

it was a great show.
lots of energy, and the band members were really into it. he kept bringing out diff ppl guesting, and id sat the highlight of the show was when he brought on another dude who was beatboxing, then they had a beatboxing jam just he 2 of them. amazing!
only complaint is that he didnt play any of his originals. it was mostly jams, not so lyrical.

overall, highly recommend it. great performers, great crowd, venue. great time!
