I have seen this play a few times in Los Angeles but it has been years since I last saw it. I took my daughter to the touring show in Chicago as she is gong to be in a community theatre production of the show in February.

I must say I was absolutely blown away by the cast! The singers were all so incredibly talented I, surprisingly, had tears flowing down my face through several numbers, purely based on the fact that I was witnessing such talent. Jean ValJean and Eponine in particular were great! Also have to give special kudos to Madame Thenardier...she was a hoot!

Highly recommended!!!

This is the first time I can honestly say I was so let down by a performance..Fontaine was NOT having a good day and killed it for everyone else who sang their hearts OUT!!
I regret to say I treated my family from the UK to this as it left us pretty "Les Mis" as NOT the best..It was a real Shame!!!
The sets the props, the costumes FAB...The main Lead Man WAS AWESOME..

The show was truly amazing as I expected it to be, but I must say that I think I preferred the original staging from back in the 1980's.
My only real complaint was that the orchestra was often too loud for the voices - most noticed of course during scenes when the voices were quite soft.

When the curtain went down on the first act, my sister next to me (who had never seen a show of this caliber) was in tears. I knew my birthday gift to her was a hit!

All in all - I loved it. "Les Miz" is my favorite musical of all time, so how could I not love it!

I only wish that I could have seen this every single night, We loved the staging but the music and the performers were the best I have seen....Will forever be a great memory.

In my opinion the lead roles' singing and acting were not very impressive compared to the other Les Miz productions. I've seen it about 6 times previously plus twice this time in Chicago. Although the new backdrop/props were awesome. I don't understand why some of the songs have to be rushed, e.g. " I Dreamed A Dream". Also Javert's voice was too nasal. The one who played Valjean was just ok. There was a part that he sounded a bit 'off-key' starting. I felt that the actors that played Fantine and Cosette were lacking in emotion and appropriate facial expression. Overall it did not live up to my expectations. Quite disappointing but I still look forward to watching future shows maybe with new casts and new director? I would still recommend Les Miserables to anybody who has not seen it yet.

Les Miserables is by far one of my favorite shows. So when it was coming to chicago I knew I had to go. I was not disappointed. Bring him home nearly made me cry and everything was perfect.

Javert stole the show in my opinion.
Besides a slight quaver in Jean Valjean's character's singing and a less than stellar "Dream" by one of the female leads, the prop handling and individual and group performances were outstanding.

I've seen Les Miserables a few times now, and every time it's a complete thrill. This production was no exception. The only thing I wish had been different was the sound level; the orchestra was a bit too loud in relation to the actors' voices. Otherwise, I laughed and cried!
