Fabulous event on the ice, although the rest of it was not without flaws. However, it seemed most of those were venue or fan-related, and nothing the NHL could control.
Seriously, people, it's not just the players who are supposed to be gracious, win or lose. And Heinz Field is a nonsmoking venue, but you wouldn't have known it Saturday. On top of the cigarette level of rudeness: Victory cigars?!? Really necessary? Not unless your name is Red Auerbach.
It also would have been better if the sound system had functioned throughout the pregame actiivities, national anthems, first period and half of the first intermission.
This was my second Classic, and amenities, in general, have improved since the Buffalo game. For all the weather issues, there were no long breaks in play due to conditions, and whoever set up the rink versus the seats did an amazing job. Other than one whiny chick in my section, no one I've talked to had any issues with visability in any section of Heinz Field.
