Beautiful performance of French classics

It was a wonderful performance of some of the great works of Edith Piaf, Yves Montand, Charles Aznavour among other great artists by Jil Aigrot. I also liked the musicians performing with Jil Aigrot, and felt that the piano performance was fantastic and full of passion.

I enjoyed the song that were performed but the singer did a better job on some songs than other. She is really good when singing Edith Piaf but her performance was desappointing for songs by other artists.

Lovely voice, terrific accompanists. Does well in her area, but very derivative, and succeeds only when sounding like someone else. Needs wardrobe advice - the white suit didn't work, the dress was perfect.

She gives new meaning to the saying, "it's a hard act to follow" because all her songs were songs very well known by the original artists most of whom are no longer living. She executed all of them remarkably well, She is clearly a talented and capable singer. On the down side her performance lacked passion or needed more visual excitement. As is, it would work much better in a small cabaret venue where people can watch, drink and dance. For a staged auditorrium it needed more. Still I recommend the show if only to keep this wonderful music alive.

I saw her when she came to the Lisner 2 years ago. She says she will be back in 2013. Barring some unforeseen circumstance, I will most definitely be there and will bring as many people as possible. She's amazing and I wish I could see her more often!!!!!

Lisner is small enough to make this evening seem a caberet experience. Jil's voice was excellent and her style pleasanr and personable. Her walking through the audience singing Milord was a great touch. Enjoyed this concert totally.

If you have never heard Jil Aigrot, then you must. While I am not so well acquainted with this genre of music, the concert did leave me with a greater appreciation and wanting more. I saw many around me when songs would bring them to tears.
