I was swept away from the beginning. Ms. Tomomi Nishimoto's tact has brought the best sounds and harmony out of Pacific Symphony ever! I never heard Pacific Symphony sings and dances that clearly with the first piece on the program: La forza del destino Overture by Verdi. Tchaikovsky Symphony No.5 brought me vivid recollections of my childhood winter memories...Snowy fields, icy deep woods and cold valley...and the majestic sunset on snow covered lofty peak...beautiful finale with passion. Amazing!
Diva Sumi Jo displayed variety of her voices. I think the choice of pieces from La Traviata was excellent: It was like seeing a very best abridged version of the Opera...Dramatic and it expresses Violetta's love, passion and death...Brava!
I look forward to Tomomi Nishimoto and Sumi Jo concert again soon!
(I am thinking about going their concert at Orange County Performing Arts Center on this Friday as well...!)
