At the last minute, we chose Punchline San Francisco for my after birthday dinner "event." We had not previously seen Ali and watched a quick clip from Jay Leno. SO glad we went! She did NOT disappoint! She is hilariously animated and totally on target with her material. And even though I was celebrating my 47th birthday with my 19 year old son, 21 year old daughter and husband - I had a great time (although there were parts that were "blushingly hilarious!" for me, with my kids being there!). We would all strongly recommend that anyone who has not gone out to see Ali find her at a local venue. You won't be sorry - she's oh so funny! Thanks Ali, for a birthday to remember!!!

Ali's shows is very misogynistic and raunchy. Her depiction of women who are married and caring for their children as 'retired' shows that she's 'never been there and done that.' And in just about every joke the 'punch line' was related to either bathroom humor or sex--especially offensive is her segment on how educated women like abusive sex (oy). I just read an article in the NY Times Sunday magazine about Jerry Seinfeld in which he stated that he works very hard in his show never to resort to this type of humor because it's just an easy, low-class way to get laughs. I think Ail should take this to heart and challenge herself to entertain her audience with material that's not aimed at the mentality and culture of kindergarteners.

Ali Wong is so damn hilarious that my stomach hurt the next day from how hard I laughed at her show. Her comedic abilities aren't close to being well captured by her work that's aired on television b/c she excels at raunchy humor. Do yourself a favor and see her live!!!
