I may be one of the performers roommates, but in all seriousness this show was hilariously amazing. The only thing bad about the show was that it only had two performances. The versatility of the whole show was a perfect balance in my book. The live musicians were just as strong as the dancers and without competing for attention on the stage both dancers and musicians were able to complement each other to create an never ending flow of energy that grew throughout the show. It is hard to think of any performance group right now to bring this feeling of a live jam session to life. The raw feeling of fun was quite refreshing and it was really easy to get into.
Let me paint you a picture: You know how in performances sometimes the performers get the audience members to clap, and all of the audience starts clapping to the beat? but then after 10-15 seconds later some people start losing interest and stop then more and more people begin to stop because its not as exciting as they thought then you get that one awkward person who didn't realize they were still clapping and they look around and see they are the only one so they just start clapping softer till they can sink back into their seat?
yeah...that didn't happen
they got the crowd to start clapping and by the end of it they got the crowd to stand up and we were still clapping and I mean everyone. I was sitting next to this older fellow who could very well be a grandfather and he popped up clapping like an older round clapping jack-in-the-box! an old man was freaking out as much as I a person in my twenties.
