Very enjoyable race. ALMS is awesome in that the paddocks are all very open to spectators, prior to the race you can talk to the crews, the drivers, etc. Mazda Raceway (Laguna Seca) is a fantastic track. Lots of places to stand that weren't overcrowded with great, upclose views.

This event is a lot of fun because the vintage race cars are actually driven around an absolutely beautiful track. Not really a serious race; who wants to wreck a one-of-a-kind? The paddock is wide open and the owners are friendly and approachable, very proud of their race cars and make an effort to give you histories of who drove them when and in what events. Some of the early models ran in the Indianapolis 500 in the teens for prize money of a few hundred dollars.
However, the will call experience was bad. There was nothing on Ticketmaster that said will call would not be at the racetrack and we ended up driving into Seaside to a hotel to pick up our tickets, which on that busy car weekend in Monterey is a trick. Not great to be turned away at the entrance and told to drive another 20 miles to get the tickets and come back again.
The event's worth it though.

It was a great day at the races and will b back asap. Enjoyed races but vending n sponser tents were where it was at. Loved the stunt bikes. Wish there were more seating around the track other than grand stands. best day of vacation

An awesome time!! The bikes were fast and loud. There was lots to see and do in addition to watching the race. Food and beer everywhere. Had general admission seats and sat on the hill. Could see several different turns.Only downside was parking. They dont have people controlling the cars after the race and it stopped up real bad. Sat in line stopped for an hour before we finally started moving.

Pros amazing heroics on the track in all classes. Everyone seems to ride just a bit harder here.

cons who's bright idea was it to take out all the drinking fountains?
The anouncing was a little off this year, no commentary during downtime for motox2 for example.

I wish they would bring moto 2 and moto3 to this track. Especially moto 3 the amount of passing would be incredible.

I have been to a lot of events, some at Laguna Seca, this was the easiest and most organized event. From the ease of purchasing tickets, to the parking and the friendly vendors. Can't wait for next year.

Laguna Seca is amazing! I have been going here since I was 12! I love the fact that if you have a Pit Pass you can meet many riders! It makes the experience so much more memorable! In fact, my step father has been going for 38 years, never missed ONE year! It is a lot of walking and you will need sunscreen but it is well worth it! I love how interactive the riders can be towards their fans!
The track is amazing! And I believe going there every year to see the MotoGP and AMA and other bike races are what get more people interested in going! It is like each year there are more people! So, expect it to be crowded in the Pits! But it is well worth it!

If you love cars going fast and the great outdoors, the American Le Mans Series is perfect for you. Featuring prototype and GT cars that showcase different technology, ALMS is certainly a motorsports series not to be missed.
In this particular case, at Laguna Seca, be prepared to carry a lot of sunscreen and water! Drivers and teams alike are more than happy to interact with fans during their off time, and the energy is absolutely amazing. There are also fan activities (auctions, autograph sessions, sponsor booths, etc.) to partake in.
It was general admission seating and that includes paddock access (unlike other series like IndyCar where paddock can be an additional cost) and pretty much free roaming of all areas that spectators can safely access to view the expansive track.

As always, ALMS is the best sports car racing in the US. Great fan interaction with drivers and cars. The prototypes are the most hi-tech cars outside of F1 and the drivers in both categories are top-flight international drivers. Again, only F1 has better. It's always a great experience to watch these guys drive. The GT cars are particularly great in terms of competition. Always a great fight between the Vettes, the Ferraris, the Porsches and the BMWs. What could be better than that? I love endurance races, the longer the better. Six hours of racing really lets the strategy play out in ways you never see in NASCAR or F1. You really get to see it all unfold. Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is one of the most challenging tracks in the world. With the Corkscrew and the view from the hills it's really world class. I have a great time every time we go there, which is every year without fail.

The race and the track is awesome. The only problem is that the day we went it was terribly hot and there were very few places with shade; go with an umbrella if you are looking to stay for the whole race (that lasts for 6 hours!)... Also, if you have infants/kids, it's probably not the right place to go because the noise of the cars is just outrageous... obviously it's fun for adults :-).
Would definitely recommend going (if you haven't yet and love racing) and I'll definitely go again, but probably when it'll be less hot...

The Laguna Seca Moto GP was the best.
The Old school rider was there for weekend show. Nathing more than yamaha team celebrity Colin edwards, KENNY ROBERTS, EDDIE LAWSON,Wayne Rainey and the new generation was there too. BEN SPIES, COLIN EDWARDS.
Congratulation for all riders ,team and all the peaple was there for the MOTO GP 2011.
THE MOTO GP 2011 WAS WONDERFUL. THANKS FOR EVERBORY TO MADE THIS HAPPENED.

We could see letters indicating the will call to collect the tickets. We spent half an hour driving to the will call which was far away from the racetrack and when we get there they told us the will call was closed even though I had asked previously to one of the security people at the entrance door. So we drove back to the racetrack and they let us in but wihout the general admission tickets we had purchased because the only way to contact the will call was through telephone. Very nice..

Very well run event. First time at this track,unreal!!! Great staff, used the parking with shuttle, fast easy, no problem. Picture perfect day,great racing. Went on the sunday xl tees were gone by nine am, i"m sure they will stock more next time. I don"t know if they still have them,but it would have been cool to see sidecar racing as well.Over all the best time ever at a race track!!!!!!!!! THANKS

From picking up the tickets at will call to speaking with the individuals manning the info booths and watching the amazing motorcycle races, it was an fantastic experience. The track is amazing-the Corkscrew unbelievable. We sat "on the Hill" for most of the racing in our chairs mesmerized by the speed and skill of the riders negotiating the track and passing other riders. The vendor area was just as great, anything you needed or wanted was there. Ducati Island had a showing of all the Ducati models to be had and vintage models as well-the Ducati display simply made one druel over the mastery and beauty of a Ducati motorcycle. If you ever have the chance to attend an event at Mazda Raceway-Laguna Seca do not hesitate-GO FOR IT. You won't be disappointed.
