The Happy Together 2012 concert at the MN State Fair was outstanding! We went to the concert in 2011 and were amazed, so we went again this year. These 65 year rockers can still shake it!

The concert started promptly at 8:00 - they know how to properly treat us seniors who won't stand for any "stylish" late starts! PLUS the weather was perfect (outdoor concert)! PLUS the changes between groups were very short - what a crowd pleaser! PLUS a short intermission (read: potty break) was scheduled that the crowd appreciated!

The Buckinghams opened the concert, followed by the Grass Roots, Gary Puckett, Mickey Dolenz (Monkees), and finally the Turtles. The set selection by all 5 of the groups was outstanding, a nice blend of their greatest hits. Several groups saluted the military alumni in the crowd which was much appreciated. All of the songs were fantastic. All the performers get an A! (note: Gary Puckett's voice isn't what it used to be, but he gave 100% effort AND he is a MN boy, so I am upgrading my initial grade of B for him to an A).

It was interesting watching the crowd enjoy the memories from 40 years ago when they heard their favorite tunes from the past being played. Most sang along! Yes some wore their tie-dyed shirts and some searched for the few remaining hairs on the back of their heads to do that pony tail - but this was our night.

If you like these groups, this was the concert to see. I would go see them every week if possible. They sounded exactly like they did 40 years ago. That is very rare this day and age. The only one that couldn't (or at least didn't) hit the highest notes was Gary Puckett in OVER YOU. If you know the song, you know he changed it---just a little. But I could listen to him all night long.

Was the best concert we have seen this year. Acts were great and everyone was so helpful in finding our seats and making sure all was well. Would go again if they came back. Would take a car load of friends.

I really thought that this was a great tour! I enjoyed all the groups, but I especially liked the Grass Roots, the Buckinghams and the Turtles. I hope that this tour considers BEMIDJI again as a venue.....

These guys were wonderful!!! They all put on a VERY GOOD SHOW. The Turtles still sound just like the did 30 years ago. SOOOOOOO entertaining. And the Lady GaGa spoof was hilarious!!! It was our anniversary so it was even better. We met at the Rock & Roll Reunion 23 years ago and have been married for 21 years. Thanks for the great time. It was wonderful!!
