After the opening there was about a 45 minute wait until Bieber took the stage, but it was well worth it. He descended on the stage with huge golden wings, and started with one of his singles off the album, “All Around the World.” Bieber added in an extra chorus because Ludacris, who is featured in the song, was not at the concert. There were colorful strobe lights flashing around the arena, which added an exciting flair to his performance.
The fast songs that he did were phenomenal. The whole coliseum was booming in response to his dancing. He did not even seem to get winded and his vocals still managed to sound just as they would if he was standing still.
He also performed slow songs like his acoustic “Be Alright,” where he sat on a platform that was on a huge crane. It circled around the arena and he played his guitar, making sure to periodically remind the audience to sing along with him.
My favorite part of the concert was when he sang “Die in Your Arms.” Since the song has a Mowtown-y feel, the stage was set up like an older concert. He used a vintage microphone and I felt like the whole arena had been sent back in time. Another highlight of Bieber’s performance was his hit single “As Long As You Love Me.” The song is hard to perform live because of the vocal riffs, but he did not seem to break a sweat. During the song he had a breathtaking dance break and it was really cool how his backup dancers seemed in sync with every move he made.
Overall the concert was an incredible experience. Bieber’s dancing, vocals, lighting, and backup dancers collaborated to create a concert I will never forget.
