I spent $400 to entertain two children and two adults at the recent production of The Nutcracker. These were not the "best" seats available but they certainly were the top price range for me! Much to my dismay (we are from Atlanta) there was NO LIVE ORCHESTRA! For this price point, how could they not have a live orchestra? There is such a difference and for the children a huge missing component of the overall experience.
The dancers were wonderful; costuming and set design very colorful and imaginative.
At the intermission it was interesting that a small box of popcorn and 2 bags of cotton candy cost $15! I hope that this is a huge fund raiser for the ballet ( I sincerely do in this time of difficulty making enough money to pay the bills) but I each adult had to hold a six year old on their lap throughout the performance because the seats were too low for a child.

We attend the Nutcracker annually, typically in Boston. This year we chose to attend in D.C. to be with the grandparents. It was truly the best I have ever seen. The dancing was technically excellent and imbued with passion, humor, elegance, and grace. The sets and costumes were ravishing, and actually moving in their beauty. I don't typically go crazy with hyperbole like this, but the production really was all that.

We've seen a lot of Nutcrackers--Joffrey, Moscow Ballet, San Francisco Ballet--this is our favorite. The sets and costumes are gorgeous, the theme is original, and there are many funny moments that lift the production out of the mainstream Nutcracker mold. The only thing that could make it better is a live orchestra.

The worst nutcracker I have seen yet. We must have had the "b" team. They ran into each other several times, not in sinc most of the time.

I can't believe I paid over $100 for tickets to a show with no orchestra. And adding insult to injury, the piped in music was so soft that you coul hear ballet shoes hitting the floor. The dancing was terrific but listening to Nutcracker essentially on a boom box was terrible!!! Everyone around me agreed too.

There were alot of children there and their parents let them talk the entire preformance which was just rude and disrepectful. I asked to have my seats moved and the staff was very helpful. Also my grandmothers could not see because of peopkes heads in the way.

I am not an expert in ballet, but do enjoy listening to the music and watching the dances. The dancers put on a great and entertaining performance. However, I was very disappointed that there was no LIVE music, considering what the ticket prices were. I also did not realize that the entire ballet had a different setting and so did not have the same dances as the classic.

Septeme Weber's Nutcracker in Washington DC was phenomenal. He has a historic and humorous spin on the original Nutcracker that makes it exciting to see because it's a spin off of the old classic. The new roles are full of life and entertainment, and there are moments that the dancers involve the audience as well. I would recommend that anyone who hasn't seen it must go see it at least once in their life. Septeme Weber is an artistic genius!

Every year I see a few productions of the Nutcracker as it is a tradition. This was one of the best I have seen anywhere in the US. It was creative and well executed.

Loved seeing the Warner Theatre, the show was good but it's variation of the original missed the mark for me. At first it was great but after the intermission it seemed to drag a bit. Overall though very good show and very talented performers!!

I was looking for a traditional rendition of the Nutcracker, and this was not. Instead of using senior members of the ballet corps, many of the roles were played by children. Its fun for families, but not for someone looking for a high-caliber professional production. Those roles played and danced by the senior members of the corps were excellent, but there weren't that many.

The show was the same as every year, very nice...but for the ticket price is it disappointing to have recorded music. The music is uneven, distant and sounds cheap. We have gone to this show for many years, but after enjoying live music last year and hearing the difference, I do not think we will return if the recorded music persists. I would have difficulty recommending this to a friend.

Canned music, rushed score, stage crowded by cute kids but not much to recommend this performance. I go to ballet to see leaps, not jumping by tots.
