So... I needed an epic date before my S.O. went off to college. I was panicking, then I thought "A concert would be awesome!" Luckily, Jeremy Messersmith was playing at the Minnesota Zoo. I was wary, but I got tickets. The catch- they were fifteen seats apart. Day of the concert- we get to the zoo, and it's pretty awesome. Nice ambiance. We get our seats, and Rogue Valley starts playing. They were superb, and professional. Then Jeremy hit the stage. He sung songs from all his albums, and even some unreleased and a few old tracks, some songs played with a string quartet. He put on a concert that rivaled De La Soul's, with polite and involved fans to boot. Oh, and the venue- great. The amphitheater steps are large enough that you never get blocked by a tall dude, and the sound was awesome. Security was cool, and lighting was tasteful. It all made for an epic win of a date.
