Opening act(s): Barry Lyech (sp?). This guy is freaking awesome! Never heard a better guitar player, anywhere or anytime. I do believe he can play any song no matter the style. Do NOT miss this guy if you get a chance to hear him! @

Friend who knows lots of bands had been lobbying me to see MT, her "all time favorite band", so checked them out in cool intimate venue, Duling Hall. About 7 guys in the group. First thought was that they sounded like Little Feat with horn section. But as the show unfolded, best comparison would be to 80s band "Tower of Power". Good group, tight and most songs in 6:4 time. Dancing music!

Talk about talented. I'm so happy these guys got to play at such a great venue like HOB. I can't wait til they come back! The keyboardist, Dane Farnsworth, is freakin amazing! Loved, loved, loved the show!

We had heard about how fun Mingo's shows are. Surpassed our expectations. I'm not a big dancer, but you want be able to stay in your seat. Great show. You can tell these guys love what they are doing. They aren"t well known in jackson, so the crowd was relatively small, but they still played with passion.

I drove from Memphis to Jackson, Ms, to see this band. I am so impressed with the energy Mingo Fishtrap put into the show. They were high energy from beginning to end. My only regret is I didn't get to hear more songs. Mingo Fishtrap is right, tight, & out of sight.

These guys are just awesome. Like a younger version of Tower of Power... with some fresh thinking. Took 6 friends that had not heard them before. All were blown away. Nice guys too, mingling after the show....will go again for sure.

Scott McCurry was so bad ass, really great show! Loved the huge band, they have a great, new sound. It was so hot in that room that I didn't stay for Mingo Fishtrap, but seeing Scott McCurry and the Missionaries was enough for me. House of Blues upstairs room was SO HOT it was seriously unbearable. HUGE problem, I've never been that hot and uncomfortable at a concert before.

I paid to see Mingo Fishtrap. They are a fantastic band and I have been following them for years. Scott McCurry opened up. They have some skill. But to be honest, it was more noise than music. Really rough around the edges. They play as individuals, not as a group.

Mingo sounded incredible. They really do keep getting better. I wish they got to play more of their set list. Seemed the opening band got most of the time while Mingo was left w/ an hour or so. I won't pay to see them at HOB again unless they are the only band on the bill. I will wait till them come through Denton or hit the Glass Cactus.
