My wife and I had a really good time watching the LA Sol for the first time. The facility and field were immaculate and very accomodating. Our seats were reasonably priced and we had a great view of the entire field. Definitely recommended.

My family and I enjoyed the sunny socal weather as we basked in the sun watching a heated battle for the championship. My only complaint is actually for the players. They all played so hard in the hot sun. They were all warriors and champions. The stadium however only held about half its capacity that day. Maybe advertisement or ticket prices can improve for them.

This league is a great opportunity for young girls to witness role models in the sport. I hope it will continue, but definitely need to get more people in the seats. Advertising more at the club soccer level might help. But the ticket prices are good. Atmosphere for the title game was great and there was a lot of action in the second half. HOWEVER, the officiating was horrendous. Who pulls a straight red card on a tackle that could have been viewed accidental especially when she was not the last defender?? And, this in the 23rd minute of a championship game. Then, not call an obvious take down in the box in the second half. All any fan wants is consistency - and not consistently bad.

The WPS championship game was by far the best sporting event I have ever been to. It was a display of great soccer and passion for the game. I would strongly encourage any sports fan to attend. I hope to attend every WPS game I can. I can't wait for the 2010 season!

Excited to finally see our team SOL in person. It was all that I expected. I only hope that next season I will be able to cheer more from statium seats. Impressed with watching both teams strive to make their plays unfold; but sadly to see our team lose. Kudos to Sky Blue for their phenominal persistance in passing, defending and keeper stoppage.

The Home Depot Center in Carson is a wonderful venue! We attended the 1st women's professional soccer championship game and had an excellent time!! All staff personnel were courteous and nice, everything was clean, the field looked excellent, and the game was awesome (except for a bad call or two by the ref, but that's to be expected). We were very pleased with everything, and are looking forward to seeing more women's soccer games there in the future!!!

The game was hard-fought and mostly well-played. Home Depot Center is a great place to watch soccer. The concessions need to be updated however. Bad food at high prices. Newer arenas are doing better.
Unfortunately, the thing that will stand out forever in this championship game is the horrible officiating by ref Kari Seitz. She showed extremely poor judgment and marred an otherwise brilliant win by Sky Blue. Seitz is an embarrassment to the league and to all soccer fans everywhere.
Bottom Line: I would only recommend this event if Seitz isn't officiating. She ruined the game.

The referee ruined he game and the show. She was partial towards the New Jersey team and expell one of the Sol players unfairly making the game less interesting. If this league (WPS) wants to suceed they going to need more qualified referees.

The inagural WPS Soccer FInals were played at the Home Depot Center with the LA SOL playing against the SKY BLUE FC. The final score was 1-0 in favor of the SKY BLUE FC. Both teams played enthusiastically and exhibited nothing but class both before, during, and after the match. Especially notable was LA SOL Goalkeeper Le Blanc taking the time to sign numerous autographs for ALL the fans who requested it. I have been to numerous matches at the Home Depot Center and have always viewed all workers there as both professional, curtious, and well organized. Look forward to attending more in the future.

We were very excited about women's soccer coming bakc and have been to a few of the Sol games this season. The outcome of this game was a bit disappointing (they lost), bu it was a good game. One of the great things about WPS is that the players stay on the field long after the end of the game to walk by the stands and sign autographs. It really brings the game to the fans. Also, since it has a smaller fan base, the nice thing about watching WPS in Home Depot Center is that almost all seats are on the West side, providing shade and making things more enjoyable. Great time for all.

It was a great day for soccer. the LA Sol staff had tons of fun events for the pregame to keep people busy and get everyone excited for the championship game. They were giving away free tee shirts around the stadium so everyone could feel like a true fan. All of the spectators were respectful and had a good spirit throughout the match even though the home team was down for most of the game. It was a great game and very worth while. Any time the Sol play at home from now on, I am going to attend.

What the title game demonstrated as clear as could be is how TEAM trumps great individuals nearly every time. The LA Sol has the greatest soccer player in the World - Marta from Brazil. In addition, they have several other excellent individual players. But that is how they played while their opponents controlled the pace, kept possesion and eventually found an opening to score.
This game also demonstrated why it is so dificult to attrract the American sports fans to soccer. A 1-0 score is the norm in title games as teams play more defensive and there are even very few good shots on goal in an entire game. While true experienced futbol fans understand the nuances of great play, the American sports fans has been jaded by things like ESPN's highlights to focus on the scores. In soccer, there just aren't enough of them.

My family are major fans of the WPS. We have watched every televised game since that first inaugural game in March 2009, and have gone to several LA SOL games at the Home Depot Center. Yesterday, we drove up from San Diego to attend the WPS Championship game - LA SOL vs SKY BLUE FC. We did expect this game to be special. We did expect this game to have special inaugural championship game give aways. The only thing that all these loyal fans received were coupons for a FREE McCafe! Are you kidding! The WPS should have treated their fans to something more than a coupon for a product no one likes. At half time, instead of something special for a championship game show, we had to watch children goofing around with beach balls. Those kids didn't even know what they were suppose to do with the balls. This was another insult. We are done spending a lot of money, time traveling and time wasted going to a live game at the Home Depot Center.

Aside from the obvious title, there is nothing more exciting than watching a WPS game life. Unfortunately the atmosphere during the game did not become electrified until the last 10 minutes of the game. The kids did an amazing job at keeping things loud, too bad the adults weren't doing a better job. The team poured their hearts out, but was not rival to a team that seemed to want the title more.
On another hand the line at the box office was too long for the only two people taking care of fans.
