I had listened to his music since i heard of his story . After seeing the documentary, it was a thrill to see him in person. He voice is great. It was a pleasure to be part of this experience.

Rodriguez lived up to every expectation and more! He sounded just like his CDs. He has a great sense of humor. Great guitar playing and vocals! I would have much rather seen him in a more quaint venue, otherwise perfect!

The story of Rodriguez on television and movies prompted me to wonder how many other stories like his have and continue to remain in the shadows of U.S. dark realities. Rodriguez’ writing of love and surroundings resonated with those who had the chance to hear his music abroad and far. On Friday, I got the chance to pay tribute to an U.S. artist whose music resonated in me once I had the chance to hear the lyrics and enjoy the compositions. I did miss the marimba and the brass I have appreciated in his first two albums. I did now miss the chance to continue wonder while listening to Rodriguez about what we may have missed and continue to miss.

I just wish we had ordered tickets for this event earlier. We very much enjoyed Rodriguez and feel fortunate that we had the opportunity to see him live in concert, even from the nosebleed seats of the third balcony.

After watching the Oscar winning documentary, Searching for Sugarman,, it was great seeing Rodriguez in person and hearing his wonderful songs. The best songs were when he sang without backup; sometimes the band"s guitars would make it difficult to hear Rodriguez. And very impressed with his guitar playing.

rodriguez was great. loved him. a shame i had to see him at such a substandard facility with terrible accoustics. and the frayed carpeting is a disgrace in arguably the most important building in chicago. i haven't been to arie crown in forty years and it is the same crappy facility it was then. with as much money as is wasted in this city it is unfathomable that apparently nothing has been invested in arie crown as far as the quality and aesthetics of the venue are concerned.

his voice and lyrics were terrific. problem was the lighting and his hat made it impossible to see his face. Arie crown was too big for a small group like this.

After seeing "Searching for Sugarman", I was so happy to be able to see Rodriguez perform in person. Yes, he's 70 years old, and hasn't been performing regularly for the past 50 years, but he still has that beautiful clear voice and his warm, generous spirit. It was an honor to be in his presence. He performed many of his own songs, which are so beautiful and haunting. And he played some old standards. When he ripped into "Lucille", it was thrilling, and I said to my friends, he's still got it! Thank you, Rodriguez, for sharing your music with us. (BTW, he performed for an hour and a half - longer than I expected.)

If it hadn't been for the very loud and intrusive gentleman on the loud speaker system in the lobby prior to the concert it would have been a perfect evening.

The opening act was sweet, ending with a beautiful song that highlighted the lead singer's range and voice skills, while finally capturing audience attention. The break between the opening act and the main event seemed a bit long.

When Rodriguez walked out on stage, guided by his daughter, the theater lit up with anticipation for this beautiful man who is finally being acknowledged for his immense talent. Better late than never, but how sad that it took 50 years. My daughter and I felt blessed to be in the room to witness this man of soulful genius bring his music to life.
All in all, a magical evening.

"An ordinary legend" is how Rodriguez quoted himself. Quite true.
Very moving to see and hear this guy singing. It is a little old fashioned but so good.
Interesting also to watch the audience: old, young, country, urban, a lot of different kind of people, all driven by the art and the story of Rodriguez.
A must see.

As it turns out Rodriguez did not ignite himself on stage in the 70's. I saw him Monday night in Nashville. I heard him too! Unlike many artists Rodriguez was true to his music and sounded just like his recordings. Good for him, and his audience. In short, the best $30 I have spent in some time. Go see Rodriguez when he comes to your town. Who knows? He might ignite himself on stage!

Rodriguez is a talented musician. It's great to see him get the credit he finally deserves. For a seventy year old, he can still get down!

I think the sound guys could have been better. At times the electric guitars were too loud relative to Rodriguez's guitar thus drowning out the star.

This show may have been best played as an acoustic set.

In a quiet moment between songs a loud voice called out from deep in the balcony; "We love you Rodriguez!" That woman seemed to capture the feelings of each of us there at the Ryman. "I know it's just the drink," Rodriguez said quietly, and after a short pause he added, "But I love you back!" He continued to love us back with a fantastically wonderful display of his poetry and guitar wizzadry. I didn't want the night to end! Thank you Rodriguez.

Seeing Rodriguez was like being with a real, live piece of history. It brought me back to a particular era. That's powerful stuff. This was a rare moment and I'm glad I was able to have that.

The only dissapointment was that he didn't share any of his story and he has so much to share.

When Rodriquez walked on the stage, he was given an immediate standing ovation. This is the best concert ever.
Rodriquez is a true song writer, poet, performer. He is humble, unique and his voice is beautiful. He sang all his songs from his Cold Fact album. Everyone was cheering and singing along with him. Especially, when he sang Bob Dylan's song,"Like a Rolling Stone" he made it his own. Then he sang "I only have Eyes for you. That was so romantic and beautiful coming from Rodriquez.
