Well, for starters, I had trouble getting to the Shedd Aquarium bacause I didn't see any signs pointing to the aquarium. For all the other landmarks in the area, I assumed there would be something pointing me in the right direction. Out of towners should get clear directions befor heading out.
Next, the food that was offered was overpriced and not very good for what I paid. I ordered a chicken jumbalaya served on a paper plate with mushy rice. Drinks were overpriced as well. I had a beer bacause I couldn't trust bartenders to make them worth the money.
Next, the venue was drastically over sold. There was no place to sit to hear the band. My guest and I had to eat our meal in a cafeteria away from the band. The crowd was virtually elbow to elbow.
Next, the crowd seemed to be there for a night out and not for the music because most of the people talked during the whole thing. I never really got to even listen to the band.
If not for the aquarium and my friend to make the night enjoyable, it would've been a waste. If you're going to attend, choose the band carefully and pick one you think may draw a moderate crowd if the music is important to you. If you just want to hang out, just go to the aquarium and eat & drink somewhere else.
