Opening act of sisters were talented and I enjoyed listening & watching them. One sister spoke between the songs and she was funny. They were both very sweet.

She & him had a fantastic group of musicians playing w them.
It was first night of their tour and this was evident a few times of
stage position or what song was next on the list, changing of instruments happened to all except drummer w each song but did not take a long time.
There was not much crowd energy & it was not encouraged....
Cameras & phones were not allowed during show and it was great! People were not distracted by their use & it was strictly enforced by security. It's amazing how much people pay more attention to their phones doing Facebook & Instagram rather than listen to the show they've purchased a ticket for and all the arrangements that are necessary for the evening.
I was disappointed in the lack of energy of the crowd. It was almost like they were bored.
Music was very good. I was happy there was no sing along w crowd, no annoying bright lights in our eyes and no fog machine - thank you!!!

The Ryman was a perfect venue for She and Him. It was an unforgettable concert and I love the entire show.

For those of you looking for Zooey to chat and giggle between songs, she doesn't talk much. It was really all about the music and they were incredible.

Secret Sisters were great, I'll describe them with one line. "The way country music was meant to be". Great sound for just 2 people singing with a guitar and no band. She & Him were great too. The only thing I wish they would have done was talk a little more between songs and open up some. However, in the absence of brief conversation they played songs one right after the other. I was amazed at the length of the set list. Every song I wanted to hear they played. I didn't like that cameras were prohibited, including cell phones, security and the ushers were strict like Camera Police.

If you love Zooey Deschanel you'll love this show! Sometimes the band overpowered her delicate voice; loved the acoustic numbers. Hope her encore is always "You Put a Spell on Me"-it was fabulous. Opener Secret Sisters very enjoyable.

The secret sisters were the absolute highlight of this show!!! They focused on vocals and less band and their performance was intoxicatingly good! She & Him had a few awesome moments when they got rid of all the "clutter" and it was just then and a guitar... They just had too much going on musically. Their strength is her old fashioned, classy voice and many times you couldn't hear it or it was completely over shadowed by all the other sounds. The best thing that came out of this experience is the knowledge of the secret sisters. They were just amazing!!!! I think I'll stick to getting the few tunes off iTunes of she & him that I like from now on.

The show was great, the band was great, the opening band (Secret Sisters) was great, it was a lot of fun. It was more enjoyable when it was just Zooey and M., it made it seem less like a concert and more like a performance. It seemed more personal and more fun. Zooey had a few quips between songs as well.

One thing I didn't like was the ban on phones and cameras. I can definitely understand WHY, but when you have security and staff running around for the first twenty minutes telling people no phones, one person told me to put mine away 10 minutes before the show even started while completely ignoring someone doing the same as me not even 6ft away, it gets annoying and ruins the mood.

People eventually started listening and the staff became a bit less distracting. The show was great regardless though. It is something I would do again... although, if I ever go to another Ryman show, I will either sit in the balcony or in front of it. The supports underneath are the worst.

This was a nice show at a perfect venue. Wonderful and talented artists. Zooey's voice is crystalline,and angelic. Something that everyone needs to hear. My only problem was that, at times, the back up singers were painfully off key. At one point it looked like one of the guitarists had to tell them to back off a bit.
But it was a great show. I am glad that I was introduced to them last year I am a huge fan now! CHEERS!

I was so excited to see She + Him play their first PDX show, and I was not disappointed! They had an amazing playlist full of great songs and came back for a 2 song encore. They sound amazing in person and are not to be missed live. They don't really chit chat much, they get right to playing songs and their energy is infectious. I defy you not to leave with your toes tapping.

This show was a lot of fun. For the first part of their set, I felt like they were rushing through each song and immediately transitioning into the next one. The quality of the songs was great; it just seemed a little hurried. But about halfway through, the band exited stage and Zooey and M. Ward played a few songs by themselves. That was amazing- totally changed the atmosphere. It was also fantastic when they played M. Ward's song Magic Trick- I wish they would have done more of his solo songs. At the very end, they exited stage very quickly after their "last" song. Zooey gave a tiny wave and just ran off. But after several minutes of the crowd persistently applauding and cheering, they came back for a couple more encore songs. Probably the most fun part of the night was at the very end, when everyone in the audience stood up and clapped along with the last song. The energy between the band and crowd was great. I can't wait to see them live again!

I freaking love she & him... zooey's angelic voice is a must hear! I have absolutely nothing remotely bad to say about the band... but the audience is another story! I was told by a friend, that at past shnitzer shows the audience was slient/boring/still and he proved to be right. FREAKING CLAP OR DANCE OR SMILE OR LAUGH PORTLAND! have a good time!!! why would u go to a show to mope?! i dont understand!
