Great deal on a lot of musical entertainment. 4 bands that did a killer job. A lot of fun and the lineup was not what I had originally expected, but it turned out to be great. The room is laid out well with easy viewing of the stage. The bar was easily accessible, and their is a smoking section for those who partake in the nicotene.

The sound was mediocre and a bit muddy, but acceptible if the room wasnt so noisy with loud talking people. The chatter from the audience seemed extremely high and my group all complained on the ride home about how we knew everything about the people that were more than 10' away from us since they talked through almost every song from every band while waving their iPhone around acting like they were stars on a reality show. It was unlike anything we'd ever seen before.

I'm not sure if the room has odd acoustics or if there were a TON of chatty people with really annoying voices. It did take away from the show for sure. Lara Lynn actually made a few comments about how people must not have come to see her since it was a room full of chatter while she played. That was not likely the case. She was fantastic and plodded through it, but you could see her frustration. As the bands got louder it did help drown out some of the loud talking, but it didnt stop it at all.

Maybe twitter, facebook and our smartphones have convinced us that people actually want to hear all of our BS, even during a concert. Not the case for me, but, it is the world we live in. I wished I had a squirt gun at one point so I could spray some people in the face and remind them that they were not the one we came to hear. Good show. Bad audience maybe. A different venue might've drawn a cooler crowd I think. I'd go to this theater again, but only for certain bands.

Arliss Nancy songs seemed to follow the same beat and rhythm. The vocals were washed out but it appeared they were just screaming the same song over and over. The low was the bass player removing his shirt to show a prison tat on his chest that gyrated with his belly fat. The drummer was entertaining as he hit the drums so hard that he repeatedly lost his glasses into the drum kit. The set was loud and unremarkable...

Jason was a class act by comparison. The band is very talented musically. Jason really excels at songwriting. However, his show was shorter than in the past 4 times that I have seen him. He was also missing his talented guitar player Browan Lollar at his side. Maybe that limited the songs that they could play without having two guitars. I was disappointed that he didn't play We Ain't Never Going To Change for an encore. Oh yeah... They didn't play an encore... Puzzling? Great show... He needs to play his 2.5 hour sets like his used to play at the Laramer Lounge....

Justin Townes Earle is a superb performer. And Jason Isbell gave 200%. Both interacted a great deal with the audience, sounded amazing and seemed to really be enjoying themselves.

Saenger venue was awesome. Staff was awesome. Justin Townes Earle was amazing and sounded even better live than recorded. That girl put a whuppin' on the dog house bass. Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit rocked the house. Wonderful way to spend the evening with my son.

Sultry night in NOLA with Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit rocking the house! Jason and the Band maintained a high energy level throughout and damn near played every song they've released, plus several old DBT numbers.

The band did not come on until late and played maybe 6 songs. While the band typically plays a very good show, especially at The National, this was not their best showing. The opening band's performance was longer than the actual band's performance. A little disappointing.

The crowd left after Langhorne Slim and I'm pretty sure it was because they had class the next day and/or were out after curfew. But the night peaked when Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit played. They jammed and kicked ass even though playing to a small crowd. They played most all of their stuff including DBT recordings. Seeing them live is a lot better than their CD.......A lot of bands can't perform live...but this band commits to a great show. I totally recommend seeing them if you get a chance!!!
