Overall I thought the event was very well thought out. It my first vist to the venue and it was a great facility to host the event (I hope the venue can remain open to host more concerts).
Simularly I thought the lineup of artists was good collection of fan favorites cross multiple generes.
If I had any compliant it would the increasingly larger than life Diva projections of Ms. Badu who was the headling performer. For the 3rd time in a many concerts, Ms. Badu arraives fashionably late essentially tiring out the crowd which has been so paitently awaiting her arriaval. I love her music and have a great deal of respect for her artistry, I believe she needs to demonstrate more respect for her fans by dumping long waits for her grand entrance and simply show up timely for the set. Its hard to get energy from the crowd she may desire to generate a great performance when the crowd is pissed they have been waiting for 90 mins since the last performer for her to show up on stage.
All in all Funk Fest was a solid event. I think for future shows they could/should incorporate more of the local ATL talent into the show lineup. Such a move would also boost sales as many local acts have large followings.
