Vampire Weekend was so amazing at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz! Yes, I have heard that the show was really short, but that is just because their songs are short. Their first cd is less than 40 minutes long. I really loved their show and they played every song I wanted to hear. They had great energy and I loved how they talked to the crowd! It was exciting to get a shout out to Santa Cruz since The Lost Boys helped inspire their name.

Favorite moment: When the lead singer Ezra, was talking about forming a band so he could someday come play in the town where The Lost Boys was filmed! @
Setlist: Mansard Roof, Walcott, I Stand Corrected, One, M79, Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa, A-Punk, Oxford Comma, Cousins, Horchata, California English,Holiday, White Sky @
Opening act(s): Pocahaunted. The worst opening band I've seen in over 100 live shows. Weird and not in a good way! @

This band is absolutely awesome live. They sound impeccable! They also have a happy vibe that I love. Everything about them was great. I just so happened to be in the worst possible place in the crowed though, cuz a mosh pit broke out on top of me, I think it was during A-Punk. I don't go to metal shows for a reason!! It's one thing if your at a show where people fully know that this might happen and would even like to participate, but at Vampire Weekend it's fricken ridiculous! So if you see an even sorta upbeat band in Santa Cruz and don't want to get crushed, stand further back or sit in a balcony.

Favorite moment: I couldn't help but jump up and down as they started to play A-Punk. It was wild, I was excited. Everyone was excited. @
Setlist: They started out dancing with one of their new songs,"White Sky" followed by all a mix of the old and new songs. The only song they did not play from the first album was "The Kids Don't Stand A Chance" Which made alot of sense because everyone was dancing and that song would have mellowed everyone out. @

To begin with,
This was the greatest show I've been to in my whole life. Vampire Weekend is now officially my favorite band. I was a little bit anxious to hear the songs from their new album because I was afraid of being disappointed. However, Vampire Weekend did not let me down. What also surprised me was that the two songs I usually don't listen to from the old album, sounded really-really sensational live. By the end of the show they had everyone dancing (even in the upstairs VIP area). I plan on going to see them again before they finish up this California tour. It is that much worth it. Honestly, this group is amazing live. A funny thing that caught my eye was that Rostam looked so bored while he played the keyboard. But, what the heck was up with the opening band?

this was such an amazing concert. The band was incredible and the lights were very impressive!
The men were extremely charismatic performers. The set list was a great mix of new and old songs, all of which seemed to greatly impress the audience, including myself.
i would have paid $80+ on top of the $20 i paid to see this show. No joke, it was that amazing.
i am so glad to have gone to this and i would recommend it to anyone.

Opening act(s): Really disappointed in the opening act, I didn't understand a single word and the lead singer looked like she had been taken over by spirits. The did have some really good beats though and the drummer was good. @

The show was great! Full of energy and Ezra really got the crowd going, there was never really a dull moment! I even got to meet the guys after and they were super nice and great sports.

Such a great show. They sound just like the album but BETTER. High energy! They played many new songs from their up and coming album. I can't until the new album comes out in January. Can't wait to see them again. Really great crowd too.

The Catalyst was a good venue to catch Vampire Weekend. Though I was disappointed they didn't play "The Kids Don't Stand a Chance", overall the performance was good, albeit short (total concert time was about 70 minutes).
They played about six songs from their upcoming album and would see them in a small venue again.
This band is not really equipped to deliver on anything larger than say, The Filmore because I think they need the intimacy with the audience to keep the show going.

Love their music and didn't know what to expect live. The Catalyst was the perfect small venue to see them and they were jumpin'. The energy between the band and the audience was the best! They played favorites and new stuff and we couldn't stop dancing. One of the funnest shows I've seen in awhile.

Wow. Four college guys from the University of Columbia came together to make some fantastic music in my hometown of Lafayette last night. Upon hearing that Vampire Weekend was coming to play at the Town Hall Theater, the world stopped for a second. I could not believe that such a big band would come to such an unorthodox location to play! I felt so blessed. Upon getting to the venue, I met my friends first in line, and we rushed to go to the front row. The freaking FRONT ROW of Vampire Weekend in a venue of less than 200! Does life get any sweeter? Ezra's voice is just unreal, and the rest of the band played so well and had so much energy that my friends and I had to get up and dance with the rest of the crowd! On top of that, Vampire Weekend played over half of their new album Contra! Holiday, White Sky, California English, and other new songs are even catchier and pleasing to the ear than their first album! That is what astounds me so much. My friends and I discussed how it would be impossible that Vampire Weekend could surpass their phenomenal debut album. Looks like we were wrong! I cannot wait to see them live again, and again, and again!
