I always feel bad for the first band that comes on to the stage because the crowd usually just sits there and does nothing. The first band to play was a local Vegas band called Sanity Is Lost, I enjoyed them, but I have also previously seen them when they had the chance to open up for a band called Alesana. The lead vocalist tried his hardest to pump up the crowd, but it was a rough one. I just hope some big things come for this band, I think they really could be something. On Broken Wings was the next band up. I haven't really heard of this band until this tour, so I wasn't too sure what to expect from them. But they came out on stage and rocked it. The crowd was loving it, they had an awesome pit. They're definitely a band that I am going to start listening to, and I suggest you do too if you are more into the 'hardcore' stuff. But the vocalist is also an awesome rapper. Seriously, I don't know what he's doing screaming, he could probably be the next Eminem, ok that might be an exaggeration, but really he was great. Architects are a band from the UK and they were next, they definitely weren't as hardcore as all of the other bands, but I liked them but I don't think they are that big in the states. They kept trying to get the crowd pumped up and it just wasn't working. I actually felt really bad because I liked this band previously to this tour, I was a but surprised about this band being on the tour since they really aren't a 'screamo' band, but I liked their performance and didn't enjoy the crowd, mainly because 50 year old men shouldn't be there trying to fist pump to the band when they don't even know who they are. When Parkway Drive stepped on to the stage, you could tell a lot of the crowd was here for them. As soon as they started playing the crowd just turned into one big....ocean. Seriously, we were all so cramped together that whatever the person next to you did, you did, because there was nothing else you could do. So the crowd was just screaming and swaying along to them. This was only Parkway Drive's second time in Vegas, and I think they really enjoyed it. Winston McCall, the lead vocalist, looked extremely happy even though he was saying something about a stomachache. You couldn't have noticed though. The whole band had an excellent stage presence and played some of the crowd's favorites. Watching them definitely made me a bigger Parkway fan. After Parkway Drive, the crowd began to get antsy waiting for Bring Me the Horizon. Sometimes I hate admitting I am a fan of a band because of the band's fan base, and BMTH just may be one of them. The fan base seems to be a lot of young girls between the ages of 13-16 that enjoy their personal space. I had a lot of people get mad at me when I got pushed into them. It kind of makes me wonder why they go to shows if they don't like getting pushed around. Even though I am supposed to be writing a review, I am just going to throw this in here....if you don't like getting pushed, don't go to a show. Or like go hang out in the back or something. Well, anyways, Bring Me the Horizon came on stage and it was great. I have seen them before and this time I saw them they were a hundred times better than before. They have great stage presence. They had a great crowd. And I really do think they are the greatest dudes in their genre. Oli seems to genuinely care for his fans. They played a lot of their hit singles and some of the crowds favorites. There is so much more I can say for their performance, but all I will say is that you definitely need to see BMTH live if you are a fan, they put on an excellent show.
