Usually it's one thing when a band does a whole album front to back. It's quite another when they come back for another set of their best songs.
That was the case on 8-31-11 @ the Anaheim H.O.B. I would almost venture to say it was almost too much of a good thing.
If you have seen Amon Amarth before, their sets are very intense.
If you have not seen them before, hold onto your hat/mullet/etc. Prepare yourself to be pummeled.
I was super stoked when I got into the joint & saw how small the venue was. The Anaheim H.O.B. is cozy. I like its layout.
They played Sutur Rising in it's entirety, followed by a 15 minute break & went back into it with Twilight Of The Thunder God. From there on, it was a tour de force exhibition of death metal precision.
Although I must admit 3/4 through the second set, I started to lose steam. And I sensed that the crowd did as well. But the Norsemen kept chugging along.
I left the show drenched in sweat. And that's a good thing.
