Glen Hansard delivered the goods at the HOB. The Swell Season is really his old band The Frames with Marketa Irglova added to the line-up. Hansard is a great Irish showman, bantering with the crowd, telling stories and most importantly playing a mean acoustic guitar. The evening featured JJ Cale and Van Morrison covers, a couple or three Irish ballads and some songs from the "Once" soundtrack, but don't be mistaken the show is far more rollicking than the Once soundtrack would lead you to belive. I returned home looking for Clancy Brothers and Frames songs on I-tunes. You've got to like a guy who learns two New Olreans songs just for the show. Best show I've been to in a long time.
