The Savoyards don't perform "Princess Ida" very often. It has been one of my favorite G&S operettas since 1974, when I first saw it performed at Harvard. While it was essentially a failure for G&S when first produced, it remains a treat, with some of their most memorable music and lyrics. Don't miss it next time around!
