Portugal the Man is an outstanding band. Their music reflects many genres. Their words and music are linked together harmoniously, with not one beat lost or ineffective. They are truly an original band with unique voices and seriously good instrumentation. A must see.The opening band,

Not only is Portugal. The Man just an amazing band in general, but the fact that they played with the UCLA Philharmonia was absolutely amazing and unforgettable. Hearing the cellos, violins, and other instruments behind them played by talented UCLA students is something I probably won't get to experience again...more bands should do this! Totally awesome. Can't wait to see them again at Outside Lands!

First time seeing the band or really hearing any of their music. They are so amazing to listen to. Not into much new bands/music but Portugal. The Man is awesome. Really relaxing music. They also did a couple Beatles covers, Helter Skelter which was incredible. Would recommend it to anyone. Show was awesome. Stage setup was awesome. Music was awesome.

PTM was amazing!! The volume was incredibly high for the openers though. Many people left the standing area because the music was painfully loud. Overall great atmosphere, great crowd (moshing and crowd surfing!), great vibe. Portugal has an excellent presence on stage.

The venue was an old theatre that had been renovated into a club/concert venue. Very cool and very unique. Will definitely be attending more shows there in the future.

As for Portugal. The Man, absolutely seamless show that left everyone in the audience either teary-eyed or contently speechless.

Opening Bands "The Ten Thousand" and "HAIM" rocked the house. Portugal. not so much. Their choice of songs for the set were poor, after the first two songs the energy of the entire venue just dissipated. Many, myself included headed out for better company.

Opener and headliner were decent, but the shameless endorsements were a real distraction to the show. We left 2/3rds of the way into the show and the only greater disappointment than the weak performance was the fact that Qudoba had already closed and we couldn't get any tacos.

Reminds me of the good ol' days of PTM...

I can still remember how I got hooked to these guys. I had never seen a band before tell the Metro Lighting Director to KEEP THEM OFF. They played that night (and probably that tour with THURSDAY) with their very limited can lighting. Sets the mood just right for a memorable performance!

I'm sure many of the teeny boppers with their cell phones recording every aching moment, yet I am not allowed to bring in a simple Nikon small lens camera.

I love the era of technology we live in.

I can remember the 90's where cameras were allowed, because they were the size of a brick (standard).

I've been a fan of Portugal. The Man since their early days and have waited so long to see them live. They put on a flawless, crowd-pleasing show. The energy was great, the lights were mesmerizing, and the setlist was perfect.

They played a good mix of newer & older songs. They had an awesome light display that really made the stage look more awesome than it was. My only qualm was how difficult it was to see the stage from several vantage points at the Vogue.

The music and the light effects were great. The venue was bad. Felt like a high school dance, besides the dancing and the ready available flask of booze. Although, there was a steady stream of greenery.

Amazing band, great music, great energy! The best cover of Helter Skelter ever!!!

The venue was okay, not very good acoustics, but we're really limited for good acoustics where you can also dance around here in Anchorage. Also, whenever there is a show in AK in December, there should ALWAYS be a coat check - Egan Center what where you thinking!?
